Critique my edit?

this is the first edit I've really put out. my friend shot it on a T2i and we edited it in FCP7 i think. just looking for some feedback and tips for next time. Thanks in advance

What he said about the colors. Also, not sure but it looked like maybe you were shooting in standard picture style. If you were, I'd go with neutral picture style next time. Or you can download CInestyle, which looks good too. Shots were a little shaky, but not too bad. Some tripod shots would have been nice

I think on that last clip when you cut to the different angle it would have looked better if you had made the cut a little bit earlier so that the trick continues on smoother rather than repeating. Overall I really liked the vibe.

Thanks for all of the advise!!!

LT- I'm new to DSLR's so I didn't even know about the different picture styles but i just looked it up and I can see how that would make a world of difference, thanks!

sweet skiing. I didn't really like the fading between some of the shots, even if it was minor. maybe that's just me. and the filmer could do with being a bit more steady when filming jumps. other than that I liked it.

thanks! what fades didn't you like? or just fading in general? We're working on getting a steady cam but what we have been using is a monopod hanging from the camera just for additional weight to try and help with the shakes.

it was really the one at 33 seconds and the one before it. but that's such a minor thing. and it's more of a personal thing too, I'm sure most people like it. just not for me.

deffo not bad, what above said about the colour correction, also i think it'd be worth investing in an x-grip or steadycam. big up tho, its a nice edit!

Seemed like you were trying to make the edit to legit. I see this alot, whatever happened to making 'fun' edits that make people want to ride?

I would say the edit was fitting to the day. I was tired and sore and just taking a mellow day so we tried to just make a mellow edit. But thanks for the feedback and the next edit i make I plan on having a very upbeat vibe.

to Swistysteeze- I am trying to get a new lens and then I am going to save up for a steady cam. so the monopod will have to do for the majority of the winter.

Ya I landed. but it was a sketchy landing so we cut away the sketch. Every time my friend got the shot from in front of the jump I stomped and every time he got the shot from the landing I landed sketchy.
