Critique my edit of the Canadian Shield?

Before you start, it's only shot with a wide angle for the most part because I didn't have the time to switch my lenses and such considering everyone only got two runs. Have at 'er, cheers.

this exactly, workaholics reference makes it even better.

edit was tight! you were able to make something that was pretty boring (to my knowledge blue has like no snow so there weren't many feature) into a dope edit, killed it like always.

It actually wasn't at all. The lip shot up out of no where (as you can see in some of the shots), and the landing was super short, so nobody could go really big.. Regardless, everyone still killed it.

really good! and I only say that when I mean it. I don't do any video but here's what i liked and didn't-/+I'm not sure what to think of the shaky shot at :13, partly because it might actually be a perfect addition, without it the intro might get a bit slow and boring (it on the verge for me), maybe a bit less shaky. the shaky shot at :28 was perfect

+i liked the music, it was wierd but fit the edit well

- the panning shot around 1:05 wasn't working for me, the one guy was fixing his hair, the girl had a skunk face, overall not really adding to the vibe

- the guys pushing the snow up the lip... where did the snow go?! left me unsatisfied lol, id like to see it fly off the lip or something

+2:01 was my favorite shot, I was definitely not expecting that

+colour, focus, comp were all fine

it was mostly slomo so the regular speed shots felt a little distracting or something, try doing it some other way

Ill do my best to be thorough:First two shots with the flag were nice and stable, b/c of the wide angle's distortion, the warping from the stabilization in post can almost be hidden.

Nice sponsor shot.

The next shot with the black shield out of focus would have been much better if set up on a tripod.

Same goes for the next three shots (hiking bro, ski put on, town distance shot)

Next three are nice and smooth.

The shot with the high aperture and everyone hiking would also have been better with a tripod.

Next bunch of jump shots were great, all stable, great fps, lots of different angles, great color. Song fits the slowmo pretty well.

I am going to have to disagree with jpmoffat and say I liked the shot at 1:02. Everyone had been hiking and hitting that jump and its good to show the tiring of the skiers.

Next bunch of shots were all good aswell.

Overall great edit. The lens distorts a bit much for my liking, but some people enjoy that. What fps was that shot it?

Generally, I believe it was shot around 200-320 fps, and anywhere from f/9 to f/13, considering the light changed throughout the day.

The 50mm "shaky" shots were in there on purpose, mostly to add some variety to my shot type and to stay away from an edit made entirely with a wide angle. If many people start to not like them, I'll consider changing that in future edits, but for now I'll leave it at personal preference.

Thank you very much for your critique! Come on M+A, keep em' coming.

more use of tripod for shots that were pretty stationary anyways would have been nice

other than that great job especially good stabilization with just a tripod!
