Thanks! We used the Sony FS100, tho I'm not quite sure what lens we used. I think it's the same lens that is shown on every stock photo of the FS100(on Google). Color-wise: We did everything in Adobe Premiere Pro(color adjustment, RGB colors etc.). Again, thanks for the feedback!

Less slomo but that was tight
Well done, gentlemen…
I think this is a textbook example of what you can do to make an edit interesting with planned cuts, different camera angles and a clever way of shooting in general. You made me sit through the whole edit without feeling bored – which is evidence of solid filmmaking as I don't know any of you guys (and honestly didn't have time to watch but did so anyway).
The tight typography tastefully superimposed doesn't hurt either.
Good choice of music as well. It gives the whole edit a quite unique feel.
What I would have done different:
- as other have already mentioned; the slomo gets a little too much.
I'd never say 'get rid of it' as it's the style of the edit, but some shots feel a little stretched out because of it. I'd try to select some scenes and let them run on normal speed. It's not that they need to be short – you could use longer takes, as long as the tempo is different.
- I clearly understand that the blue-ish color adjustment is a choice of style. However, that also gets a little too much. This is not a biggie...
- there are a number of takes (especially skiers going off kickers) that feel very similar. It's probably because you are starting the scene quite early. I'd try cut into the action a little later so that there are less empty jumps.
Many of those scenes are 'saved' by the 2nd camera angle (one from the back going into the jump – another on the landing) but there are still a lot of shots from the back.
A little more variation – perhaps with some GoPro footage or shots from the side rather than from behind – would have helped as well.
I'd like to stress that I'm messing with details now. This is a very well produced little piece.

PS. There's only one thing with the music. It's a perhaps a little too smooth when you come to the two crashes. Do you have B-sound? If so, try to bring down the music back at those moments (don't mute it, though) and use more of the stuff that was caught by the camera.

Thank you very much! It's good to hear that you enjoyed it. As for the slo-mo, coloring, and the angle clipping, I must say I can't disagree. The slo-mo bit was done on purpose tho, but we could have given the edit some more "real-time" effects. Unfortenatly, we didn't have the B-sound for the two crashes. Was kinda bummed about that when we sat down and started the editing process. An option would have been to add sounds from other clips, and sound effects from the internet, but we felt it would have ruined the two crashes, seeing that we did not find any fitting sounds. What we should have done, was to shoot in 25.00 fps instead of 60.00 fps.

really cool vibe. a steadier cam and less footage of the knuckle could make it even better.
Thanks! We had just gotten the Steadicam when we started filming, so my brother weren't used to it, which resulted in the fact that some of the footage were a little shaky. We also forgot to Warp Stabilize in Post, so that was basically an honest mistake from our side. There will be steadier edits in the future, we promise! Thanks again for your feedback.
My previous comments aside, I think you guys did great.I also like the fact that you made choices – that you were going for the slo-mo effect and aiming for a special look. That's how you break new ground.
I also think you did the right thing when not adding canned fx-sounds from the internet. That often requires so much more work and it rarely comes out perfect if you're not working with a skilled sound designer.
With all the goodies that camcorders and DSLRs come with these days, I definitely think that sound is where they still need to get better.

Loved the whole edit, but at 2:40-3:00 the shots that showed the same shot twice one with a closer angle. Maybe try splicing the two shots together so it isn't as repetitive in that section. Other than that the cinematography was sick!! Every shot looked as if it was planned out and editing is flawless.
