Critique first edit

I know there are tons of threads doing this, but here's my first edit. I'm wondering what you think, and how I can improve, etc. It's mostly snowboarding because most of my friends snowboard, I'm the skier.

Ok well first thing was way to much fisheye, get creative stand further back, get more interesting shots. Second thing is when you have your fisheye on, turn OFF your image stabilizer so your vignetting doesn't shake like there is an earthquake going on. Personally for my fisheye I don't like vignetting so I zoom through it when I film or just crop it out later.

If you have better filming your edit will look so much better and you can do more things with the clips when editing. So I recommend brushing up on your filming and investing in a good tripod.

I didn't watch the whole edit, but that wallride on the waterfall was really dope. For the editing watch other vids get some ideas to apply to your own edits and have some fun filming!
 
Thanks for the suggestions, the reason I had alot (pretty much all actually I guess) of fisheye is because I don't have a tripod yet, as I would wanna get some nice smooth shots. Also I hate vignetting as well, I zoomed it in all the way on the screen of my camera, but it turned out slightly different once I got it onto a computer.
I'm working on the filming, and a tripod will come soon.
Any more suggestions?
 
people have allready said this but turn off image stabilization when using the fisheye, and use different angles and filming techniques to give your edit variety

and that waterfall part was so sick and badass, but it came out of nowhere. If your whole edit was on that level it would be great
 
How big is the threads on your fisheye and how big are the threads on your cam? If the fisheye is smaller your going to get way more vignetting so maybe upgrading to a better, larger fisheye will help you out.
 
I have a 37mm Century lens on an HV30 (43mm). I'm going to upgrade to a 43mm thread lens, but it's a toss up between the 43mm Century and 43mm Opteka. I know that Century's better quality, but I don't know whether it's worth the $200 difference. I'll probably end up getting the Opteka.
 
I got a 43mm opteka for my hv30 and it's pretty good, but the only problem is that without a spacer ring it doesn't fit on the camera well. You can check out my vids most of the close up shots are with my opteka 1 spacer ring and I cropped out the vignetting.

The skiing ones have no vig and the skating ones have vig so you can see how much you will get.
 
thanks a lot man! that footage looks awesome too, does the lens come with the spacer ring? and how's the quality of the glass?
 
Quality of glass is barely noticeable from a century lens. Don't waste your money on the century just go Opteka you won't notice the difference. When I ordered I, I ordered from 47st photo in New York because the shipping time from Opteka was like 2-3 weeks and I needed it early. When I got it from them there was a spacer ring in there so I'm guessing if you order straight from Opteka you would get one.
