Crested Butte vs Telluride

so this winter i am doing an internship at either Silverton or the Adaptive sports center at Crested Butte, and i am in debate as to where to get a pass when i am not working

crested butte. no question about it. telluride has weak ass terrain compared to here. And yes, i ski both (of course CB) quite frequently.

cant go wrong with either. but to whoever said t ride has lame terrian obviously hasnt been there. haha. wow.

T E L L U R I D E.... is the dopeness im sitting here right now.... cb is dope but telluride has the same if not better steeper terain.and the towns way cooler than cb. i lived in cb for two years, so im not pulling this out of my ass... plus lsu days bring in so many hot girls

first of all, if your living in silverton, its not like telluride is right there, its probably a good hour and a half to get to telluride from silverton. But, cb and telluride really can't be said that any one is better, i personally ski telluride a lot more, and it is absolyely sick, i ski cb too, but i would deinately say that telluride has way sicker terrain. But if your livling in silverton, buy a pass to silverton mountain... it is fucking amazing, or dmr is only about 20 minutes away

i will be doing an internship on the hill so i will probably get a pass there anyway, and during peak season, i dont know if they will be letting me ski around by myself.

and I herd that DMR(purgatory) blows

wow - 2 people in this thread said that Telluride has better terrain than CB = Jokes

But Silverton is way far from CB, so if that is where you are living ski there, and then make trips to Telluride

i saw this thread yesterday when it only had like 7 or 8 replies and almost everyone said CB, so i went to my rich friends who go to telluride like every year and they think its so amazing and easily the best mtn anywhere (i'm not saying its bad, cuz ive never been there), and i told them how everyone loves CB way more.....shut them right up

Tellurides park is probably better, But CB has the best terrain in Colorado (besides Silverton) no doubt about it

i've only been to butte but seriously, i've grown up believing telluride is better, just from what i've read, seen, etc. CB definitely blew my mind, i loved it.

I honestly don't know how anyone could diss on Telluride. CB has the worst park... ever? If you are looking to get frost bite, or hang out with ugly bitches than for sure go to the butte. Telluride is flocked with beautiful women, and it is sunny nearly every day. CB does have killer BC, but that isn't saying Telluride doesn't. If you are interested in serious BC skiing, you can hike half an hour, and drop into Bear Creek, you will find the best Back country almost anywhere in the continental U.S. If you are looking for parks, than Telluride is sooooooooo much better than CB. CB's park is pretty much gay. The vibe in Telluride is way better, and if you are interested in what the town has to offer, than look no further than Telluride. It is sick, CB is GAY.

You dont go to CB for park first off.  And there are very pretty girls there.  I just did a premiere there and my jaw dropped with how many beauties came out for the night!  But it is still the mtns, so yes they are more rare than say DENVER. Yes its cold in CB, but that usually happens in the winter.  How can you say CB's vibe is any worst than tellurides?  You obviously havent been there long enough, or your just a straight up hater and want to think telluride is the best.

I love Crested Butte because i love the mountains, people, and how easily you get into lines that will make you second guess your skiing.  Its such an adrenaline rush.  All the kids up there are super cool, as are all the locals.  The town has so much to offer as well and reaches out to its visitors and treats them like locals.  Living there is like being on vacation every day of the year.

Dont let this arrogant skier plague your views on a wonderful place.  As for telluride i've only visited, and loved the town, and have never got to ski the mountain but would love too!

As for the community i truely hope you dont represent it in any way whatsoever, otherwise i will not be going back any time soon.  Chances are your just the villiage idiot though.  Dont hate on CB unless your going to give a fair and honest opinion.  Because everyone i know that has been there has wanted to move there and never leave.

Either one has good stuff, but with telluride you have the opportunity to heli ski a shit ton of terrain. I'm not sure whether or not you need a pass to do that but you would probably get better prices or something.

Ever heard of Bear Creek?

I'm not taking anything away from the radness that is CB, but don't make silly comments unless you know what you are talking about.

yeah its cool if you like cb better but, it really is lame to say telluride has weak terrain. haha. like get off the groomers.

So much misinformation floating around from pubescent children...

If crested butte had the snow that steamboat gets it might be the best place to ski in the state. If crested butte had the snow that baker gets it might be one of the best place to ski in the country.

If Telluride had a few less homes in Mountain Village it might be the best town in the state. If people talking shit about Telluride spent any time there they might have an entirely different and better opinion of the mountain, the locals, the snow.

This whole talk shit about the other place to make your favorite place sound better is so ridiculous it is disgusting
