Crested Butte Ski Academy?

I was thinking about goinin there next year. anyone go there/ know someone who goes there, or just have any info./opinions on it let me know.

Just kidding, i've only been to steamboat, it was pretty nice, the park kinda sucked, but the mogul course was sweet.

I've heard really good things about crested butte.

i use to go to crested butte...i'd have myself duct taped to a pole butt naked and let ants eat me to go back. its not a normal academy b/c you don't have to deal w/all bullshit racing stuff. when i was there it was racing for skiing and snowboarding then rec skiing and snowboarding. you can't beat 2 1/2 hours a day of class and skiing the rest of the time...oh yeah and after jan 1st if you get 6 inches of snow at the school by like 7 am they cancel class and have a snow day. between thanksgiving and christmas we had at least 16 days like that. fuck it and just go

i'm gonna try to do the winter tutorial there my senior year, so not next year, but the year after. it will kick ass if i can do it.

 
CB is a great mountain, but I dont think they get much snow, and its not like theres many other mtns within 4hrs. Its also in the middle of nowhere (although pretty scenic), and the town isnt taht big. I liked skiing there but it could probably get boring, I dont know.

Stephanie, CB academy is a great school in a great community. The teachers and coaches treat you like an adult, as long as you act like one. The park is kind of lame (though the pipe dragon the academy leases helps that a little), but the North Face makes up for that. There's a really good high school/college age freeskiing scene coming up there with girls like the Hausendoffer Twins and guys like Kyle Sul. You'll leave there a much better all-around skier. As far as the snow, the last few years have been lean, but I spent over a decade there (I've been gone for a year now and miss it), and had some awesome years. I think they're due.

dude cba is one of the best schools you can go to...i love it there b/c its so laid back and everyone is wicked chill...the older kids treat the younger kids w/respect as long as they give them the same and the best part is its not a slut farm like sms or burke where kids learn shit way too early...my best friend went to sms and all she's had to deal w/are asshole guys wanting to get in her pants so the slightest gesture of kindness to her she's crazy about them. i hate to say that, but i have a problem w/telling the truth. seriously though, cba is one of the best places you can go b/c everyone's super mellow and is level headed...and i don't know what you're talking about w/this whole no snow thing...ski patrol gives you rental skis if you go to the academy and lets you ski the closed bowls early season to pack the snow down so the groomers can get to it (and trails...i'm still drunk). if i could've stayed at cba i would've in a heart beat.

CBA KILLS it, it is a great mountain school and we have fun every day on the hill. If the snow isnt good, we ski park, and if the snow is good which it ALWAYS was this year, we ride big mountain.
