what kind do you have, im getting one and I was thinking paypal just cause i already have a paypal accoutn and use ebay everyday, but I dont know, I want one with good benefits.

If you pay off your credit card on monthly basis it will not help your credit score what so ever. Instead make payments on your bill even if you have money to pay for the whole thing, that way you will build credit history.

i know its more money and i know they don't have the rates or benefits as good as other companies, but American Express is the only company that will hook your shit up if you pay them on time, all the time. I was stranded in europe on 2 separate occasions with no travelers checks, no money in bank, and Amex came through both times. I jsut called explained the situation and that i was a cardholder and they were telling me where i could find the nearest place for them issue me more travelers checks, send me a new card and get me going. Visa and Mastercard basically told me to fuck myself. PLus, fuck Mastercard, you ain't my master, mastercard.

i got a visa from banknorth (new england bank). i don't have to pay them anything, and because im under 18, but over 16, i get my own card with my name and shit, but my mom has her own as well (2 different accounts if that matters). i hooked that shit to paypal so its all good. and it has online free bills and shit.

yep, checking account and debit card is the way to go... this way you don't spend money you don't really have or will.

 
i have a citibank card...and i get cash back on like everything i buy...and once my rewards hit $50 or over i tellt hem to send me a check and in a few days i get a check for that amount in the mail!!! i like it. cuz i use it all the time anyway. no annual fees. and i pay it online.

you may not land everything you hit...but one things is for sure....you def dont land 100 percent of the things you never hit...so get out there and hit em up!!!

No. Credit history is made up of many components. For cards, just having the card starts the history. Get a card and keep it a long time. Don't cancel cards all the time, that is bad for your score. They also want to see other types of loans (car or house). Pay your card off every month, or suffer...
