Creativity...

imo i think skiing should be pushed in a different direction than spin to win (i think its coming away from spin to win) i think style and creativity should be important too being creative is really fun too.

i just thought of this because yesterday i slid a picnic table on my hip at whistler and rode out.

its freestyle, so i just want to see something that isnt bound to one fate or to sw 10s and that will definetly take some creativity.

it prompted this post because it was fun and no one else was body sliding it, making me think that i was infact creative.

honestly you guys, i think that car companies these days should start looking into alternative fuel sources. i mean, look how much pollution they produce with internal combustion engines. instead of making engines faster and more powerful, maybe we should look at ways to make them more efficient. i dont think anyone has had enough balls to bring this issue into the light yet, so i guess ill have to stick my neck out there and be one of the first.

maybe they could look at a way to make fuel from renewable resources, or perhaps work on developing electric/gas hybrids, or maybe even cars that run on hyrdrogen and dont produce any serious contaminants. those were just a few of the ideas that i had, anyway, what do ya'll think?

Ironically, this is probably the least creative thread I've seen in a long time.

Anyways, I think we all do a little to set ourselves apart from the crowd without being prompted by strangers on the internet. It doesn't have to be some high profile thing done only by pros, anybody can be different and affect the people around them. Maybe you air a little further right off a cliff or carve slightly into a hip in the park; you can't totally avoid straying from the norm. I don't ski in the park so this is different from what you're talking about, but when I'm skiing I'm always looking for lines very few or no other people are doing--things are a lot more interesting this way. However, natural terrain gives a lot more room for creativity than a manicured, straightforward park.

I think a 1260 or a 1440 is dope in a comp occasionally, as long as you can steeze it out. It's the extra rotation from the 1080 that makes it look sick, IMO. However, a styled out 540 or a shifty 1 that pwns is amazing too. It all depends on the circumstance.

I disagree. Skiing is about technicality. I mean, how can you judge style? It's all personal preference. The fact that a 14 is better than a 12 is concrete. The more spins and less style the better.

you guys are assholes, he didn't claim he invented shit. nor is he claiming that new shit needs to be invented. just creativity in how features aer used.

are you seriously being cunts when he just wants to see what you people think is pushin creativity trying to get somethign positive going to get skiing out of the typical mindset of spin to win and 270 pretzl ZOMG

be nice to people. your all assholes

haha shane i dont get it just 2 weeks ago you were telling me that idea sucked becuase there were only 23 forward landings in the movie and now your saying you want skiing to get creative?

i guess you changed your mind but yea doing skiing is fun

wel, my views haven't changed about that movie it still sucks imo and i dont see how it was too creative besides the fact that its a bunch of guys skiing and its never been done before..

creativity is there- but only a few big names are in on it and many little names are taking it as far as possible...

hahaha i dont see how any ski movie sucks, im my opinion, that movie was amazing, best ive seen, not just because of the skiing, but the feel of the whole movie. and look who posted right above you.............

they already have thought of, and they already do use alternative/renewable resources.

Its a long phase to get it completely going though i.e how to get market acceptance, government approval, extensive testing

fuel cells are another technology which is used to power other types of infrastructure and equipment..it isn't far off and will surely be used in vehicles in the future

i think creativity is inspired by boredom. you get bored with what has already been presented and then seek out alternative ways to express yourself. one kid starts getting bored thinks of something new and kids follow that. thats what progression is.... creativity inspired by boredom of the set example.
