Creating music

wut are some good programs that you can make your own music from scratch(not just mix and ripp songs off of cd's) i have the acid pro 5 trial and i am starting to figure things out, but i don't know how to make my own beats and stuff like that? can u do that with acid pro?

Fruity Loops is probably the cheapest thing to make beats or music with.

I haven't used Reason but I've heard it's really good.
