Crazy vid of japanese skiboarders JUST WATCH

Freeskiing is still new in Japan. Just wait like 3-4 years. you'll see a lot more pros coming out of japan. Probably winning X and shit too.

Actually skiboarding is the fastest growing winter sport. All skiers that tried skiboarding once got hooked and gave up long skis. The last 3-4 years, regular ski had a slight decrease but skiboard had over 300% growth. It's easier to learn but harder to master.

100% correct, the "hate" comes from small minds who Fear that somebody new will be better ... insecurity.

"Blades" is the improper name derived from "snowblade" Salomon's version of skiboards.

^ Uhh... where do you get your data from? Because there was a huge article in the Boston Globe this winter about how more people are buying twin tip skis than ever before, specifically because of the influence of the X Games, etc. So..that's definitely not true here in the US at all. I don't know about your hill, but at mine everyone who ever was on skiboards now rides skis. You get the occassional person on solomon snowblades but that's about it. There really can't be more than a handful of people even seriously considering skiboards in the park on the east coast. I mean, maybe it's different where you guys live, but here skiboarding is dead.

holy fuckmook... this is actually pretty good, they dont even plant a hadn.. i saw a fucking cab 10 from a snowblader and he stomped that shit. give this asians some goddamn skis.

wtf? do you even know what you're talking about. ski blading or whatever you call it is NOT skiing. get some real skis

"this is actually pretty good, they dont even plant a hadn.. i saw a fucking cab 10 from a snowblader and he stomped that shit. give this asians some goddamn skis."

That's funny ... Shinji, Shew and Simon (the 3 top Japanese) are actually champions (Pros) in both freestyle ski and skiboarding

hahahahaha thats so funney cause Shinji, Shew and Simon are the top 3 Japanese skiers. you think skiboarding is gay but it really helps your skiing alot. shinji and simon are going to joi this year. im so happy i got to ride with them boys they where the coolest guys you would ever want to meet

well when your out rideing every day of the season it really dont matter if you dont ride skis everyday i would take my skiboards out about 1 day a week and ride

I totally agree with this. In the peak of the season when I was riding everday it was nice to switch up and snowboard for a day or 2. It gives you more useful muscle memory, and It reminds you why you love skiing so much more. I personally have never skiboarded, but have nothing against it. Those nose/tail presses and carves were pretty damn sick.

ummmmmmm yeah

so thats impressive that they can do some park

but take snowboards anywhere else all the mountain and you will get owned

people:

we need to look to skiboards to get more people skiing. if you read the long strange hsitory of short skis they talk about how shorter skis are what get people having fun on skis a lot faster.

my mom sucked at skiing so bad. couldnt make it down blues at all. i let her try my old-ass skiboards out and she was carving on her 3rd day. and she is old and scared.

what we need to do is let go of all the hate, let the stigma towards short skis dissipate, and then start pushing beginners into using them AND pushing people who are in the beggining stages of carving to use them.

they are really an amazing training aid and they could do a lot to grow the skiing industry.

with all of that being said, i dont like skiboarding any more. it taught me to carve and it helped me to truly enjoy skiing even though i dont get to go too often, but i definitely surpassed them they are worthless in powder and i LOVE the stability that a longer ski gives me. i can relax more on the hill with that extra length.

I'm with .:H-A-G-G-A-R-D:. I began skiboarding and then switched to twin tips because I outgrew the boards. I don't think I could go back, but when I see vids like this I can only give respect, because I know how difficult it is to land big jumps on only 100cm under you. As for all you people spewing venom, I'm sure you love the wonders of the internet because I'm sure in person you all are nothing but cowards.

the memories! my line skiboards from before there were twins haven't touched the snow in like 8 seasons. and won't, but that was sick. butters and presses!

the reason skiboarding increased in popularity by "300%" is because there used to be five and now there's twenty.

wow we need to get the dude who does 1620 on those hook him up with those guys, and who knows what'll happen possibly 1800!!!

most likely he's the steezy one... that kid fucking RIPS.. it was a pleasure to be on the same podium as those kids... true talent and respect.

ben

OK, I give up. I am glad that I quit skiing. Skiing is gay. What you are saying is that a good skier can do more spins on a smaller jump? That's retarded. Skiing sucks and you sucks too.
