ok here is how you get rid of pop ups. first off it doesnt matter what browser you use you can get pop-ups in opera, Firefox as well as in Internet explorer.
now download spybot search and destroy
(http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html)
its the best program for this, not only will it get rid of your spyware and adware but it will also stop it from coming back. update and run weekly. this is a free open source program and it gets updated on a very regualar basis.
spyware will cause pop ups in any browser, that said some browsers make it easier for spyware to enter your system. if you want to use Internet explorer make sure you have service pack 2 (in fact make sure you have it even if you dont use IE)
Firefox is a good solid browser with tabbed browsing and extensions (tiny programs that add functionality from page translators, to built in ftp clients) it does have its drawbacks though. it takes up alot of system memory.
if the pop ups say Aurora in the Top Corner message me and ill explain how to get rid of it. (ive been getting rid of spyware on peoples computer here at work and removing Aurora is a 45 minute process
