Crazy church people

ok so i live in a pretty small town with like a population of about 8,000( Port Orchard, WA) and there is a big naval base outside of it (Bremerton) so a soldier that lived in bremerton died and was having his service in port orchard. But these crazy fuckers from kansas or something show up and are protesting about how god is killing all our soldiers because america doesnt outlaw homosexuality. So they just go around to military services and stand by the service on the streets holding weird signs and shit. So there were about 10 of them and they go chanting on one of our towns busiest corners and then tons of people from the town show up and yelling at them and shit and then a bunch of hells angels dudes show up and start throwing shit at the poeple. it was kinda sick how our town scared the fuck out of them. They were only there for 20 minutes then left. On the news it said they were outnumbered 50 to 1 lol

but yeah some people are crazy, and i dont care for homosexuality or politics it all but like wtf dude these people really should get arrested for that shit...who cares if its their beliefs they are just causing a scene and being disruptive and disrespectful to people go live somewhere else
 
there is a documentary on them on youtube where a reporter goes and stays at there commune thing. they r so clueless and brainwashed
 
That is the westboro babtist church. They are not affiliated with any babtist convention or any other association of christian churches. If the bible is right, that whole church is going to hell for blasphemy.

theres 1 day a year that a church retreat or something goes to my home mountain.. our first run we got caught with one of them in the gondola and they just started talking casually like where were from, what grade we were in, then they started gettin into like what profession my brother wanted to go in, and he was talking about all that, and then hes randomly like so, do you guys pray a lot? and my brother was like well im more a science and math guy, and facts on that stuff really outnumber the whole god, creationism crap. then the guy started going crazy and getting us to play religion with him and whatnot. he ended up talking about if we came from monkey's/apes then where did they come from? and he was like see, everyone and everything came from some original source- god. and then my bro was just like oh? where did he come from then?

he rambled on about some more non-sense and then the gondola ride was over.
 
Are you serious, the assholes from the Westboro Baptist Church are here in WA? Shit i might have to hop on the ferry and tear shit up. What they do is not cool.
 
kidna sucks when they go as far as to disrupt a funeral. thats totally disrespectful. how they like it if they were having a funeral and you showed up with signs and stupid ideas?

i think everyone should be able to decide for themselves what they believe but it's people like this that make me start to think that religion should be abolished.

I mean it's all total bullshit, if you believe that's fine but leave me the fuck alone. I don't you trying to force your views onto me. you think you're doing me a favor and saving me from hell? go away

i was sitting outside a hospital earlier this year after going to see my grandfather who was there to die comfortably. i was crying, my boy of the time was there too being the comforting boy, then this guy came up to us.

he asked us if we would like to join the local church.

we both said thanks but no, we dont live here, not into religion, and not really the time we wanted to talk to someone.

the guy then persisted to us about how we thought the earth was formed, what happens after death, what happens when you're sick, all this sort of thing. some of the worst timing imaginable.

i then got quite upset with this guy, and ended up practically yelling at him for not listening to what myself or my boy were saying.

he then told me that i had a bias against "people with the enlightened outlook on life - the ones that god illuminates."

from there on, i told him that if being enlightened meant being insensitive and not actually listening to people, i appreciated my ignorance.

he then left muttering that we would never be truly happy, and my grandfather die in horrible pain because of my accusations.

its people like that guy that give religion in general a bad name.
 
A lot of people have strange ideas about religion. Why should there be a god when some people have horrible pain? Why do have people have to die if there's a almighty god? And why are some religious people fucking dumb (like some of my family), even when I mention Darwin they say it's all bullshit. I'm not saying there isn't a higher "something", but I don't believe there's a real god.

PS: Next time when there's Jehova at my house I think I'm going to tell them I'm a muslim...;)

i know, they are the biggest assholes to ever live. if one of my friends/family etc. was killed in the war and they came and disrupted his funeral. there would be some motherfucking people getting their asses beat like no other.
 
There are some strange cults out there... And there are bound to be be crazies in every belief system. Glad to hear they left Port Orchard quickly.
 
By the way, it surprises me that so many people here aren't Christians. I always thought that the people in North-America were quite into Christianity...
 
I think the younger generation really doesn't like to buy into quite as much bullshit as the older ones do
 
I dont think that there are too many things that are worse than using a soldiers funeral as a vehicle for your own political propaganda. Its the same as anyone that uses a religious setting as a site for a protest. These are the same people who say that there should be religious tolerance and that they should be able to practice religion in anyway that they please. Thats messed up. Talk about hypocrisy in the purest form. That being said, I think that anyone who thinks that religion should be abolished are A) incredibly shortsighted and naive and B) just as bad as anyone who forces any kind of thought, including the religious zealots out there, down someone's thought. I know that you are using this as an exaggeration, but I think that its important to label these idiots in a separate category as those who practice their religion in a private and personal matter. I for one have no problem with someone sharing a message about what they believe if they are polite and respectful if and when I tell them I am not interested. If thats the case, it is clearly different than these assholes.
 
How is it that church people can be SO obsessed with hypothetical people that are gay. Its like they secretly just want to talk about homosexuality all day every day, but they're so brainwashed that they only way that it is appropriate for them to do it is through ridiculous protesting and hate speech.

it's almost like they dont even know why or what they believe in.
 
and to think the cops and military actually go out there and protect their asses.. how can people so ignorant even have rights? expecially when they don't even respect the people that are keeping them alive at these events. i mean.. i'd just laugh at them and say "your on your oowwnnn".
 
That is not true at all, those people are free to say whatever they want about anyone as much as they want as long as they are not committing slander or libel, which these people are not.
 
I don't get why everyone is so mad about this, they can say what they want. I mean its obvious that you don't believe them and what there saying isn't true, so why is it such a big deal that they're saying it?
 
It's so hilarious that they try to use the Bible to justify their hate. When in fact they're using the Old Testament. So unless they still sacrifice animals to the Alnighty it's not plausible. As for condemning others to hell? IT's in the Bible! Judge not! There's other passages stating that one will be condemened for even condemening another person! The Phelps are a piece of work.
 
Sure there are always people who have crazy ideas, that will slide. But these people go far out of their way to maliciously insult and use the deaths of family members as a channel to spread their crazy propaganda.

You can't blame people for getting angry. I'm a pacifist, and this is probably the one exception where I would use voilence if I were face to face with them at a relative's funeral.
 
Sure if my relative had died and they were outside i would be pissed, but they have every right to be doing in and that is something i will always strongly support.
