I wasn't going to post anything about this, but I changed my mind.

Last Friday morning at 1:20am, two girls who had been in my year at school (one who I had known since preschool) died in a horrible car crash. A guy in his 20s was driving, and he survived. It was a horrible accident that shouldn't have happened, but it did, and now these two families have to live without their daughters and can't see them grow up.

Carmel was 19 and Andrea 18. I know loads of you drive and I just want to say PLEASE BE CAREFUL ON THE ROADS. We think that we're invincible, and I thought I was too, until something like this happens to people that you know. Most accidents happen close to home- even though you know the roads please don't be complacent. Driving a car is a big responsibility. You wouldn't act like an idiot with a loaded gun in your hand, so please don't act like one when driving a car.

sry to hear it...some peeps i know in ohio where my mom lives died in a crash...its not fun to have somebody close like that die

I never wear my seatbelt. Bad habbit of mine. I want to stat too but I always forget

when i first started driving...i wore it everytime...then i slowing quit...then after the wreck i wear it all the time

Same thing happened at my school this year Sarah. It really takes a hit on everyone. The kid who died was football superstar, popular, and even enroled in Harvard for this upcoming fall....HARVARD!! It all ended on a road 5 minutes from my house. It really puts stuff in perspective.

Sorry to hear that, so many young people lose their lives over things we take for granted like driving. For your loss I will make a point of being more careful and not so aggressive on the rode my self. I drive an hour to work every morning and back at night so being polite on the rode is something I'll have loads of time to work on. Keep on keepin on.

Seatbelts help you 60% of crashes and hinder you on 40%. They are only good for front and rear impacts and rollovers. But side impacts its safer to be thrown from your seat, then have the metal fold on to you while your trapped in your seat. just food for thought...

actually ice, the figures are something like the help 60% of the time in fatal crashes up to 30-35 miles per hours. However they hinder you 60% of the time in fatal crashes at highway speeds (55-70mph).

The point I'm trying to make though is that seatbelts are not the only answer, yes they help, but can also cost you your life. It is more important to respect everyone else on the road, and drive as safe as possible. What sucks is no matter how safely you drive there will always be some idiot or asshole driving down the road with you, so always be careful.

 
ya man that sucks hella bad i know lots of people that have died in car accidents it sucks but i rally like a mother fucker every where but im safe.
