i have a 1.88 GPA which isnt too bad but it pretty much screws me for college so skiing is where its at

SAT 1230 so schools would just think that i dont give a shit bout school and that i can do it anyway

I seriously do no work outside the classroom, either... and i go to a fairly tough private school.

Thats sucks man.

My friend had a .00 his first two semesters in college. He got kicked out after that. And it was a $30k a year private school. Now hes rocking out at a community college telling me hes going to be a doctor.

 
You can always go to a community college for a while, its really not the end of the world. Taking a few years off to ski isnt a bad idea though.

yeah i mean, college right after school isn't for everyone. i truly believe if everyone took a year off before they went to college, half of the people would end up going, but its ok to be that way. someone just told me i should go to school for graphic design cos i have 'talent', even with that, school isn't for me right now and skiing is...so follow your heart, not what everyone tells you. my dad thinks i'm a screw up cos i'm making $10 and hour doing ski patrol and tuneups...its a fine line to walk

My grades sucked since grade 7.

Out of 10 subjects,i only had more than 50% in like 2.Fucking French school.

And then in the spanish school....out of 7 subjects i passed 4.

It all changed when i moved to Maine,and then it changed again in Canada.Man,i love this country

This is wierd. Most people here just calculate a percent average until they get to university, and then use GPA. I can't tell who's who here, are ppl in HS or U? Cuz a 3.85 at any decent U is within the realm of impossible.

Dude, i have a 3.8, and im in highschool and i do seriously now work. Getting a B in high school is pretty much just going to class and doing 3/4 of the assinments

my hs adds an extra point for honors and ap classes. i got around a 3.5 taking a few honors classes a year, got into a pretty good college for next year.

I'm willing to bet that most HS's (like mine did) give out easy A's because colleges require high grades to get in. I think I got a 3.7 or 3.8 in HS and I'm getting just under a 3 in college. I wish my HS would have been more challenging.

Saying someone that has anyhthing below a 2.0 is totally ignorant, but that's what being young is all about right? Anyway, it usually stems from lack of application, no proper motivation, and teachers who enjoy fucking over certain student... All of which I encountered in my gauntlet of shit going down in ultra mormonland, Idaho... But it doesn't really matter, pissing your high school education away isn't the end of it all, there's so many different ways to get back on top of things, but they all require mucho application, and quite a bit of work, it helps to be outgoing too. Just remember, going to college doesn't make you smarter, it just gives you another way to spend other peoples money!
