Cranked din setting

Was riding a pair of bindings that I pieced together from old fks parts, I had them cranked to 14 (top of din range) bindings felt solid never pre released no toe shake

I lowered the din to 12 and the timepiece stared wiggling when I shook them on the chair and felt funny popping of jumps

Cranked it back to 14 and tightened forward pressure a hair but there is still a bit of toe play now

Never had a pre release issue but could I have permanently worn out the spring by cranking them to the top of the din range?

Have you ever had these bindings actually release tested? I would start there just to make sure they are actually functioning properly. Then you will know what to do next.
