Cracked full tilts..

i just got a pair of full tilt booters 2010 model today at my shop. when i got home, i just buckled them on for the hell of it, but when i took them off and i was looking at the cables, i noticed something bad. where the top cable goes in/ attached to the boot in the little plastic slot, the plaastic holding the cables in is cracked in there from cable to cable. anyway, the cables arent sliding out because i tugged on them hard, and i marked a little line on the cable with a sharpie so i know if the cable is coming out a little, the line will move and i would notice...but the top buckle when adjusted the tightest it can go, the cracked boot is a tad, like fairly minamal difference, is a little bit easier to clamp down..but it seems to remain just as tight as the other boot thats adjusted the same and not cracked.

so whats the deal? anyone else have this issue? any info is appreciated and +k for posts

AHHH, ok now I see what you're talking about, I thought you were talking about the anchor (which can come out and be replaced), from what I can tell you'll need to get the entire back of the boot replaced. Call up Full Tilt and see what they can do, or go o the shop where you bought it. I've never seen or heard of anything like this, but I wouldn't trust that to stay together, remember plastic gets more fragile in the cold.

yeah i know. just the shop is two hours away, it makes me sooo mad this happened. but the shop is right next to my home mountain so we'll see what happens. it holds the wires in just fine, and the shop guy said we could just replace the back when i come back in, but its just such a hassle.

does the back of the boot thats replaceable have different sizes for the size of the boot, or is the back universal for all the sizes?

I'm pretty sure it does matter what size boot you have, I could be wrong though.
You could also still call Full Tilt and see if they can ship you a new back, it's not that hard to take apart and put back together, just make sure you pay attention to where everything came from and you'll be fine. But if they'll ship you a new one then you wont have to drive 2 hours or wait till the beginning of the season and then wait for them to fix it when you could be on the hill.

okay, ill see what they say.

i will just take them in to the shop and tell them to switch my back out for free because they sold me a cracked boot which is unacceptable

i dont really want to send them to full tilt, because my dad will flip that the boot is already cracked which means that i bought a peice of shit in his mind for 400 dollars haha

sorry, just looked at the full tilt website and it says pretty much just go to the dealer you bought them from and they should take care of it,

the cable doesnt come out one bit, its just a little cracked peice of plastic which doesnt even seem to be the actual peice holding down the cable, so if i cant get it fixed, the only thing that would seem to be negative about it would be water getting in to the cables, which would do nothing...quite frankly, i just dont want any cracks in my brand new boots even if it doesnt really affect anything

yep, ski shop is just 2 hours away...pisses me the fuck off because if i want to get them fixed i have to go up there again fast because its the only shop around me in PA that carries them so they sell out realitively fast....god i need to get a good excuse to get up there...
