CR: YELLOW TAPE

EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS, SPREAD THE WORD. A VERTICAL STRIPE OF YELLOW TAPE AROUND YOUR GOGGLE BAND, OR ON YOUR FRAME ON THE LEFT SIDE.
 
I did read the thread and obviously its to show support but I was just wondering why yellow was picked, like what it stood for or whatever and then you told me it means hope
 
you could even just put a lance armstrong wristband on your goggle strap if you don't have tape. the message is relevant too.
 
i guess yellow for support?? like support our troops?? cant we come up with something a little better and more original towards our sport..
 
Fucking originality means jack shit right now. It's about rallying people to support someone critical to the sport we love, not about being original.
 
hmmm yeah i signed the tread to get him better agian and all that and i really hope he does get well cause it sucks being hurt, but i have no idea and i may sound like a dumbass for asking this but could someone please tell me what the hell happened to him??????

Dude there has been a million threads about what happened. Just LOOK for them. He was skiing at Brighton (right?) and he went off a natural roller and was collecting his gear and Kye Petersen went off after him and landed on his head. He's in a coma and shit at UT hospital, and recovering.

Don't give me shit if that isn't completely accurate, it gets the point across.

As for why not something more original...the yellow tape may not be original, but it is SIMPLE and something that everyone can do.
 
Good thing were using yellow tape then.

Think about the Lance Armstrong bracelets, after awhile, it wasn't about the 1 dollar you spent on it that was donated to charity, it was about wearing it and showing you support what it stands fore. Same thing, the yellow tape just gives us a way to show we truly support CR and wish him a speedy recovery.
 
how hard is it to find some yellow tape to show some upport to a guy that's going through probably the hardest itme in his life.
 
I really like the goggle tape idea, but does anyone else like the tape on a pole type thing? My idea was to put like an 7-8 inch piece of yellow tape on a pole. Like Wrap it around the pole but then pinch the free sticky ends together so it hangs off like a small streamer or flag.

Now I know we should all do something uniform, but I just thought that something like this would be more noticable. There are some problems with it, like for the 5% who don't use poles. Or some people might think it looks stupid or gets annoying, but I just thought it would stand out more. So when people ask what's that for, you can say for CR. Just a thought. But if people wanna go with the googles thats cool too.
 
just out of curiosity, why yellow? i never have seen yellow tape, dont get me wrong, i support cr, and when i find yellow tape, i'll put it on my goggle. but why yellow tape?
 
yellow is apparently the color of support. like differnt colors have sybolic meaning. I think skiller or skibrdingbitch looked it up. theres another thread that has the link. And as for yellow tape, if you go to home depot or another big home improvement store, they'll have either yellow electircal tape or yellow duct tape.
 
Your right, we should have all just stopped wearing them and said, FUCK CANCER RESEARCH, these things are becoming to popular and I'm too cool to wear it. Who cares if it became a fad, as long as we know what it represents, and as long as CR knows, then its all good. Don't be one of those fucks that doesn't want to wear something that supports a good cause just because other people had it.
 
you have no respect do you? do you even care that one of the best skiers out there is hurt? you don't have to post and be an asshole about it
 
bro i don't mean to steal your thunder, but one of the best and most personable skiers is nearly dead. I don't think people understand the severity of this injury. The trauma to his brain is rediculous. I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but there is a chance that he could die, or potentially never ski again. All it takes is a blood clot to get stuck in his brain and he has a stroke. This is just such a terrible thing to happen. There are still a few people on here blowing this off like it's nothing.
 
for all of you that cant find yellow tape, i just used white hockey tape and colored it yellow with a highlighter, looks fine
