CR memorial

WOW, RIP CR, you will be missed so dearly by this community. after an amazing recovery in 05, you only surprised people with insane skiing, segments, and anything else since then. even being able to walk after that injury is a feat that not many others would have been able to do.

you were one of my favorite pow skiers, and i'll deeply miss you. ski in peace cr.

I met CR at Mt. Hood two summers ago during the "Massive" hip. No matter how professional Tanner, Callum, and Chris were, the "Massive" hip was well, massive, and it was well capable of eating skiers. CR kept things positive. My favorite moment of those few days was watching CR and Tanner mirror Rodeo 450, slow, steezy, and massive. Completely mirrored, and epic. After CR took a pretty gnarly slam off the right side late in the session, the others could have been done. CR encouraged them to keep killin it. Callum sent spins deep down the left shadowed side in that rad stonewash grey hoody, Tanner got corked enough for OC to get the shot for the poster that's on my wall right now, and Chris Turpin hit the damn thing switch (although he went too deep the last time and fell about 40+ feet to flat on a zero off the right side..) and massively dominated in that orange argyle sweater.
CR was positive the entire time and refused to slow down the pace of the other riders, his friends. They kept killing it and justified the glorious pile of snow so epically shaped on beautiful Mt. Hood. Thanks CR for a life-lasting memory and session.

So sad. I think it was CR I first saw in a TB movie years ago - a tiny little segment where I think he threw down a 1260 - It was the most radical thing I had ever seen. Such a strong character - thoughts go out to his family and friends.

damn he was rippin screamin seamens like nobody else even these days. also those were my first twin tips too!!!!! old x scream 1080s. RIP CR. you are and will continue to be missed forever

Holy shit. This was the first I'd heard about this. I was fortunate enough to hang out with CR a number of times, and he was SUCH a fantastic and genuine guy. Man, I feel like I've been punched in the stomach.

I couldn't imagine being JT Holmes right now. He was skiing with both Shane and CR at the time of their passing.....It must be especially hard for him knowing he skied the last runs with two amazing skiers.

Wow.. i cant even believe this. Im speachless right now. Another great ski icon gone just like that.. CR was the man, one of my favorite skiers ever. So humble and just an all around awesome guy. All the hard work and dedication he put in to get back on his feet and back on skis. Guy was an inspiration. Vibes go out to his family and friends. RIP CR, you will be truly missed.

"For me, my family, my friends and skiing, thats it for me. Thats my life. The Joy I get from skiing, that's worth dying for." CR Johnson

recently I've seen CR rocking a lot of rasta colors, and in good spirits and remembrance heres a song for him. the beginning talks about reminiscing for all of the lost ones, thought it fit well.

yeah, it's touching!; CR always had a very profound look on life.I think the song "three little birds" fits him very well!"Don't worry about a thing; every little thing is gonna be allright !"
RIP great man !
