this is kind of a stupid statement....most pros should know it is a bad idea to hit a cliff you dont know is clear. it seems strange that noone was spotting the cliff or runout, but I dont know what the cliff or terrain was like or whether or not that were filming/shooting, so I guess I cant say what was happening. but to suggest that the reason pros should wear helmets is so they dont land on each other is kind of dumb....
i don't think that would made too much of a difference, either.
if you read about how much protection helmet actually give you it is kind of scary. Most only have to pass saftey standards at speed of like 15 MPH.
CR is actually super lucky to have had Kye hit him. If it had been anyone else who doesn't weight like 90 pounds....it could have easily killed him.
Either way, the whole situation was preventable and shouldn't happen. Sucks for everybody.
lessons learned from all this.....scope and know what is in your landings!! It isn't hard.
Lots of positive vibes for CR and Kye. Head injuries are tough and he wont really know the effects of them until he is awake. Hopefully there will be no long term damage.
