I got a speeding ticket for doing a 64 on a 25. can people with past experience in court gimme some pointers on what to say?

Just be polite and say that you weren't paying attention and that you were just in a real hurry to get wherever you were going and they will probably not be too harsh on you...You'll still get the ticket and possibly lose your license...That's what will go down and just expect the worst and you might be happily surprised...How old are you by the way?

you should have hired an attorney in advance, and it probably could have been reduced to something reasonable.

Say and do the following:

Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, Chef's attorney would certainly want you to believe that his client wrote "Stinky Britches" ten years ago. And they make a good case. Hell, I almost felt pity myself! But, ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense!

dude have ur dad talk for u. i made the desicion to talk during court and it failed badly they usually dont listen to kids. im 17 and they thought i was a horrible kid for speeding

i always try the "i'm not from around here" thing. works like a charm. or you could say "i moved for a while and when i came back, i hadn't noticed the speed limits changed." or something like that.

but then, i'm a girl and i have boobs, so i can get away with more.

good luck

don't lose your temper. i know a kid who lost his temper and yelled and cused and got service hours and on probation and house arrest just for yelling and curseing

Yes, he can plead the fifth, and guess what? He still gets a ticket and his license taken away.

Maybe ask your dad? I doubt many NS'ers have gone through law school and are familiar with the court system in this country...

well put. but

1) if you're going 64 in a 25,

and

2) your dad is the lawyer representing you, and you decide to ask an internet forum for advice..

you might just be leaning towards legal retardation yourself.

on the other hand, here's my 2 cents. act polite, don't over-react to anything, don't raise your voice, and act like you're sorry or better yet, truly be sorry.

call in a and say you are sick or have some sort of emergency and dont go. They will reschedule for a month from now. Then when your next date happens, say yoru sick again. and if you keep doing this the cop wille ventually drop the chargees because he is a pussy and doesnt want to deal with what his job entails

just show up dressed cleanly and respectfully in a suit and just don't use too many words like,"like" and "jea" and they may think you are a good kid. Just dont do anything stupid

BEST TIP EVER: PLEAD GUILTY- TAKE THE FINE- THEN SEND THE CHECK FOR A DOLLAR MORE THAN THE FINE IS FOR- THE STATE WILL SEND YOU BACK A CHECK- UNTIL YOU CASH YOURS FOR 1$, THEY CAN'T CASH THEIRS- YOU KEEP YOUR LISCENCE, MONEY AND IT REMAINS AN OPEN CASE FOREVER- IGNORE THE LETTERS- YOU CAN'T GET IN TROUBLE BECAUSE YOU PAID THE FINE- GOOD LUCK BRO!!!!

BULLSHIT BRO- ITS NEVER FAILED- THEY'LL SEND LETTERS BUT THERES NOTHING THEY CAN DO- YOU PAYED- THEY CANT FORCE YOU TO CAS A CHECK- TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE

I HAVE LIKE 4-5 FRIENDS WHO HAVE DONE IT AFTER LIKE 6 MONTHS YOU STOP GETTING LETTERS AND IT DOESNT GO ON YOUR RECORD- YOU GO FREE- MY BUDDY WILL'S DAD IS A COP- HE'S THE ONE WHO TOLD MY BUDDY MIKE TO TRY IT- ITS TRUE DO IT!!!!!!!

OR YOU COULD SAY YOUR ACCELERATOR STUCK- IT HAPPENED TO ME ONCE AND I KEPT GOING FASTER- EVEN IF I PULLED THE E-BRAKE AND PUT IT IN NEUTRAL- I CRASHED- TRY IT THOUGH IT MAY WORK - IF NOT TAKE THE FINE AND USE MY OTHER TIP - GOOD LUCK

tell them you had to unload a monster of a shit and you were worried about your ring sting, if that doesn't make the judge throw up, I don't know what will....

truthfully, don't try to act all mature and proffesional. Try to be young and innocent without misbehaving. Don't talk confidently with a complicated syntax. Just have your dad talk for you and be scared and say your sorry.
