so I have just been wondering the site looking at threads and I couple of things showed up and I didn't know what they were.

1) First off what excalty is a screamin semin? I know it is a grab...I think, but what is it.

2) What is a rockered ski?

3) What are turntable bindings? Does it mean anything different from regular bindings?

4) Last but not least, what does it mean when you say steeze? Just really smooth or really good?

Please help me. Thanks man

a rockered ski is a ski that bends up in the back and in the front to provide better float in powder

a turnable heel binding is a binding that the heel piviots

Yea what is point of bindings that pivot?? does it really make a difference?? it seems like it would be harder to ski?

A Screamin' Seaman is not a grab at all. It's when you bring your left or right ski over the top of the other one and then vise versa.

If you're talking about the bindings, the heel piece pivots to help your heel release in a crash.

im pretty sure that pivot bindings r just for if u have a harsh bail they will eject sideways easier instead of u braking ur leg

1) First off what excalty is a screamin semin? I know it is a grab...I think, but what is it.

Not a grab, but an old school maneuver, you essentially cross your legs while in the air.

2) What is a rockered ski?

a ski that has no camber under foot(completely flat), and reverse camber in the tip and usually the tail(they rise up)

3) What are turntable bindings? Does it mean anything different from regular bindings?

Turn table refers to the heel piece of the discontinued look P18 and rossi FKS series bindings where the heel piece was able to rotate a full 360 degrees

see rossi FKS 120

4) Last but not least, what does it mean when you say steeze? Just really smooth or really good?

Style, with ease = Steeze

for the bindings, correct me if i'm wrong, but they just help you release in more ways. in normal bindings you can step forward out of the heel piece or twist out of the toe piece. in a turnable heel, you can do those two AND twist out of the heel.

a screamin' semin is when you cross one ski over the other and have the crossed ski tweeked a bit so you can grab it if you want. it's kindda tricky cuz you'll have to uncross your legs before you land. it makes an awesome pic though cuz you can see the bottom of your crossed ski perfectly. show off your brand!

more elastic travel, your boot can rotate to a certain degree whil clicked into the binding without releasing. means youre less likely to pre-release when your in a situation when there's a lot of torque on your binding but you arent falling.

Thanks everyone who respond I got everything now and ontario u helped alot thanks man. Just one more thing judging by everything a gaper is just like calling someone a retard right?

not a retard really, but someone who has zero since of style, very limited skiing ability, usually skis in jeans and rental equipment or really old school equipment.

thank you for getting it perfectly right.

Gapers are people who GAPE in awe at others (generally locals) skiing abilities. Essentially its someone who does not know much about skiing but tries and makes it look funny.

actually, the reason for the turntable heel is to move the rotational pivot point in a fall from behind your boot, at the lug, to the center of your leg, thus resulting in less torque on your legs.

however, there are a number of additional benifits from this design.

- they transfer energy outward to the edge, not in toward a track or rail, thus skiing better.

- by locating the mount screws inside the turntable, the mounting footprint is GREATLY reduced, resulting in a ski that is MUCH more responsive flex-wise.

- these always seem to have excellent elasticity. whether its the binding cam or the way they are designed, they almost never prerelease, espeically important for riding out a sketchy landings, thick powder, moguls, or presses/buttering.

turn table bindings are honestly cooler looking than the others... and all the other stuff said above... but mostly there way cooler looking

correct me if i'm wrong but, isn't rocker a normal camber underfoot, but then rise in the tips and tails?

and then reverse camber is flat or bent underfoot, and then rise in the tips/tails?

Reverse Camber is exactly how it sounds, its almost like rocker but there isnt really a flat section underneath the foot, it curves like camber but upside down:
Pontoons are a good example, you can see the "rocker" meets all the way under foot and it is not flat:

Rocker is when it is flat under foot and then there is an early rise, like hellbentsBut, I believe it can also be where there is camber and early rise, just like next years bibbys:

so I have just been wondering the site looking at threads and I couple of things showed up and I didn't know what they were.

1) First off what excalty is a screamin semin? I know it is a grab...I think, but what is it.

Screamin Siemen: Not a grab. Daffy Cross your legs and then uncross. First time I saw one on film was in a Greg Stump Movie. Couldn't figure out which one. One of the US Ski Team Mogul guys, Trace Worthington I think, did a Daffy, crossed his legs, back scratcher with his legs crossed, then uncrossed and landed. This was off "Jump for Joy on the Glacier at Blackcomb. In the film, they called that move a "Screamin Seeman". The actually Daffy, cross your legs and then uncross, Seeman air was named after Chris Seeman, who competed and later coached at Wintepark. There is another guy named Kurt Seaman from Idaho, who claims that he created the trick. As far as I know, it was Chris Seeman. Another variation was daffy, cross legs, twister with legs crossed, uncross. These were the some of the sickest moves that could be "legally" thrown in freestyle moguls at the time.

2) What is a rockered ski?

Rockered is just reverse camber. When you lay the ski on the ground it will curve up like a rocking chair; thus the term Rockered.

3) What are turntable bindings? Does it mean anything different from regular bindings?

On the right are a pair of Marker MRR Rotomats. They were kind of like Porsche's in the day because the design stayed about the same for decades. They are the original turntable bindings.

4) Last but not least, what does it mean when you say steeze? Just really smooth or really good?

Steeze to me represents any tricks done with style.

Can i just get something straight? Does everyone agree that rocker is not the same as reverse camber?
As far as i'm aware, reverse camber is when the ski is like a rocking chair.
Rockered is when a ski has the normal camber, but the tip and tail have extra camber, i.e. they rise earlier
Thoughts? I might be wrong...

I thought this too.reverse camber=zero flat part on the ski. like a rocking chair. or a bananarocker=flat or [somewhat] traditional camber underfoot, and rise in the tip and tails.
