I don't know if this has been posted before but is there any worse music than country? I can't stand all those twangy ass songs about failed marriages, pick-up trucks, tight jeans and cowboys. If I was ever going to torture someone I would make them listen to country non-stop for a week.

hah yea i havent seen this thread and i have to agree country music sucks its the worse. and some of my friends listen to it and actually like it.. pathetic yea i think it sucks

 
I dont care for country music personally BUT I do realize it is music. They write their own songs and lyrics and get this, actually play and sing the music themselves. So I dont care for it but atleast its music unlike this 'new-pop' crap!

haha...i live in south dakota...all of the radio stations are country pretty much, i live in hick hell basically. my brother listens to country, it drives me crazy

My mum and her fiancé only listen to country... If you played me 30s of a song, I could probably tell you who sang it, and its title... lol It's not my favourite type of music, but I respect the fact that it is music, and also that it may be someone else's favourite type of music.

Me: 'How come every time we talk, the subject of my mum using drugs comes up?'

James: 'It doesn't.'

Me: 'It does though.'

James: 'Yeah, it really does.'

(Ten minutes later.)

James: 'Ha! Your mum on drugs!!!'

 
Haha, reinds me of thistime... i got a ride to the hill from a friend, and his sister was driving. she was playing country music in the car, and this song line from the song sticks out to this day...

'...I feel in control, when my daddy let's me drive...'

Yeah, there is a kid from Texas in a couple of my classes, the name of his favorite song is 'She thinks my tractors sexy' I just find that hilarious!

Country music can be good. You just have to look past all the bad bands, which probably make up most of what's played on the radio.

Folk music can also be good. Take a listen to 'Fliny Kind of Woman' by Dar Williams.

 
I like some country :) To each her own though.

I like all music. I'm just starting to grow up now though. Before, if it wasn't playing on the Fox, you couldn't get me to listen to it. Now, I don't listen to the Fox very often and I jump around to different stations. True, I don't ever go to the country station, but I like Shania Twain and probably that blond chick who married the guy with the black cowboy hat. I also am starting to like some rap, and before I HATED so much of it. Now I'm starting to see the art in rap and I'm starting to see the harmony and melodicity (wow, is that even a word?!) in country music.
