Could you guys answer this quick question for a school research project I'm doing?

The only people who gaf about resort food prices are people with families, and everyone on NS is too socially inept to have a family

If it was somewhat reasonable I would understand. a couple dollar markup is fine but $20 markup is fucked. Only place that I've been with decent food prices is Mad River Glen, Jay and somewhat at killington. The peak lodge and base areas are way to expensive though. Havent checked out Magic or Cannon but would assume them to be reasonable. Its one thing for something to be a little bit expensive but prices are just a massive go fuck yourself now.

Yeah. It's a pretty small impact on me personally but it would be nice if I happened to forget to bring food and could buy something without it being crazy expensive.

I mean it makes sense when you're eating a cheeseburger in the middle of the mountains. The resort knows they have no competition and will obviously exploit that, I'd just bring food.

Definitely doesn’t ruin skiing I can just bring my own food but if it was cheaper I’d buy food at the mountian a cold sandwich can’t beat hot chicken tenders and fries

7-Eleven bumping Quest bars up to $3.99 is some bullshit that ruins my experience on the hill.

i don't have any kids so it's not like a need to, if it were my choice i'd be skiing 8-4 with no breaks so it's not a big problem. i think that the prices are crazy high and it's stupid but it won't negatively affect me. if it gets too bad, i just won't eat or bring my own stuff.

No not one bit. Sure it's expensive but saying the price of food ruins your skiing experience is like complaining about the selection in the gift shop. Bitch please.

I grew up always packing lunches for skiing and still do today. I rarely get resort food because:

1) it sucks, usually

2) expensive af

3) lodges are a shit show

4) ski more

When you pack, you can plop down and eat anywhere. Plus you can get more skiing in if you eat on the go or without heading to a lodge.

If food prices impact your experience skiing, then....well....oof

Of course I'll buy food occasionally, especially if it's good. The place at A Basin has some really good food. Wolf Creek has some bomb ass white chili. Jay Peak has the ramen cart. Other than those three exceptions that hit the spot for me, I'm packing my lunch.

jus pack a lunch>>>

Ok I just want to clarify that this is for a school project. I pack my own food and I understand that this is a corny question, I just couldn’t find any articles online about other people complaining about it.

oh okay my bad.. im pretty lucky that the food at my home mountain is pretty reasonably priced, like 7.50 for a chicken basket. but with cheap food comes bad skiing lol.

I have a family and my local is not insanely expensive compared to a lot of spots but we just bring food, sammies, soup or chili in a thermos, fruit, granola bars, whatever. Sometimes we buy a coffee or hot cocoa at the little coffee spot but the prices there are probably 10-15% more than a starbucks? so not too bad.
