Could we have one thread in SG or NSG without the word searchbar?

Seriously, EVERY FUCKING THREAD has some jackass or noob saying some stupid as sentence with search bar in it. Come on kids can we stop being morons and help people out?
 
but actually... "USE TEH SURCH BAR NUB!" there are two assumptions that most people will make when you post something like that: 1. That YOU have used the search bar and have found something relevant (in which case, why didn't you post the relevant link?) and 2. YOUR presumption that the person posting comments hasn't already tried the search bar and NOT found what they're looking for.
 
I think I get more pissed off at a person who says some bullshit remark about the searchbar than someone who posts a thread on a topic that might have been posted more than once...

Regardless, i agree, it's not like the searchbar is very usefull most of the time, i hate when people post to use it
 
shut it heath no one wants you to be a mod. you always just say some negative shit about every thread anyways so why does it matter to you.
 
Ha! This thread has nothing to do with me wanting to be a mod. This thread has to do with me getting sick of kids saying searchbar in threads its so fucking annoying. Hate i think is still acceptable.
 
If the searchbar was actually useful, then I could see the validity in saying "search bar" in every thread, but the truth is, the search bar is a useless piece of shit. Unless you know the exact wording of the thread you are looking for, it doesn't work. Add the fact that many thread titles are misspelled, and that leaves hundreds of potentially helpful topics overlooked. Not to mention some threads are not approriately titled and thus impossible to find after a few days. The problem is, people have been saying "search bar" for so long, you search "cork" and go to the 50th result, and you see someone saying "search bar". See what I mean? People say it so often to get their post count or whatever, that now even if you use the search bar you get threads like the one you made! If NS isn't going to make the search bar more advanced by searching within threads and cults, with keywords etc., then they should at least make a search yield all possible results and not just 50.

No, I agree, it's fucking rediculous. It isn't just noobs posting repetative threads. It happens in every thread. I ask a very legitimate specific question that wouldn't be in the search bar, and people still say it. Seriously, are you going to find a thread about if a 5 foot tall drop in ramp will produce enough speed for a 2 foot tall rail and what angle to make the drop in ramp. Seriously. It's rediculous. Unless it is a blatant repetitive thread(how do i do a 360), then don't bother reading it or posting. Im tired of this.
 
I may be the only one who actually agrees with you heath. I too get tired of little kids bitching about the searchbar, even when a thread hasnt been posted in over a year. Get over it, things are bound to be repeated, just dont post in those threads.
 
searchbar noob. There's like a bazillion threads with people complaining about how much heath bitches on NS.

searchbar sucks balls at finding anything useful, that's way people make threads over and over. Then there are noobs who don't know what it is.

The search prevents threads to repeat...the best recent example was the death of anna nicole smith...at least 10 threads were made. Second example: the love/hate bush threads there are too many...

 
lets try something different since everyone was a noob at one time or another. I know how long it took me to find my around. When there is a repetitive thread, Rather than typing searchbar.............. lead by example and put a link to the thread with the best info in it.
 
I completely agree man. The only time I think it's alright to say it is when someone has made a topic about it really recentlly.
 
while there have been some very good points made for both sides here, i.e. uselessness of the searchbar, etc. does it really make the globe stop spinning if there is one post in each thread that says "searchbar n00b" before people actually start answering?
