Cost of mounts?

So when you buy a new pair a of skis they always mount the bindings for free, right? But what happens when you just bring the stuff in to get mounted. I'm pretty tight with a shop in new hampshire that has given me a few free mounts in the last 3 years and one of them i paid 10 dollars for because the owners of the shop weren't there. So I just moved to burlington and I had my urb's mounted up for the 3rd time and they charged my 40 fucking bucks. Did the shop rip me or is this what mounts actually cost if you don't have connections?

Please post the cost of mounts in your area. I'm really interested to know how much they go for.

If it makes you feel any better I recently had to pay $100 to get a mount. I knew I was getting jacked but had no other option at the ttime. Apart from that one shit experience I've never paid more than $20. A 6 pack usually does the trick

I've paid $30 and $40 for the last two mounts but that was right before shops closed for Christmas so that pricing wasn't bad. The free mounts usually come with buying skis from that same place, in my experience anyways.

I usually pay about $25 at one shop, but it is 45 minutes away. Other than that, $40 if i go to one closer

my shop charges 3 rates... 45 if you walk in off the street, 25 if you buy boot, binding or ski, and free if you buy two of the previous 3. Its a very reasonable rate most shops will charge anywhere between 50 -100 due to binding release equipment costs and liability.

My shop is the same way, buy a ski and binding, its free, $25 if you buy 1 item and $50 if you walk in off the street. I've seen shops as high as $100. Factor the mounting costs and shipping into it when you find that great deal on-line. Support local shops!

an adjustment for mine was $15 last year but im not sure how much a mount is, i'll find out in a couple weeks. plus the binding tech is a ski instructor at my mountain and my dad knows him so i'll probly get a small deal

usually 20 at the shop I go to, but I think they give me a discount cause I know the people working there.

the standard charge is 40 bucks to do something they do hundreds of times a day, mainly to pay off expensive jigs, drills, and that shit
my shop does it for me for free and i usually give them like 5 or 10 bucks just as kind of a tip, i think they normally charge 40 but i'm such a bro /claim that i get free mountings and under pro form on all their gear

lol 100 bucks holy shit.

i work at a shop so its always free and all my freinds get their skis mounted for free. and if the bitch is hot will mount her for free too.

otherwise its 35

i got my beater skis center mounted and the guy drilled right through them by accident so he gave me 100$ shop certificate. jea

I don't necessarily agree, but with the emergence of internet sales as a serious threat to our local retail industry, the shop I work in has taken the philosophy that you can't buy tech work over the internet so leverage that as much as possible..

This means that we are charging minimum AU$60 for a mount, AU$80+ for Bindings like Fritschi Freerides..

(Obviously less if they buy skis from the store, if not free)

I personally think we are going to lose a lot of our loyal customers from this..

Same goes with boot adjustments - if someone wants to buy ill fitting boots online and then come in so we can play around with the shell, then we will charge over $100 per boot..

$50 at my local shop. Shops need to make money, they are businesses. If you're not buying your gear from them they have to make money somehow.

Consider than a mount takes 15-20 minutes and in that time the shop could sell a pair of skis with rail bindings and mount them for $500 profit. If it's not busy and you want a deal then offer the guy $20 cash and a coffee/beer/snacks.

haha so do i my friend.. i work in a shop i was sayin thats how much my shop charges but if im helpin the guy and they are chill i will usually go back n mount and wax it myself for free if they buy the ski from me. but whaterr..

Shops in my area are charging $80 and upwards. If you buy stuff from them obviously it is free but if you bring in your own boots, skis, and bindings it is at least $80. I know they are doing this to because soooo many ppl are buying on-line and bringing them in. so i guess they have to make money somehow or they won't be there to mount your skis for you anymore. so what im saying is just support your local ski shop and buy from them!

usually free if one of my friends does it, otherwise i just go towards closing when hardly anyone is there and talk to the tech. usually its just a 6 pack or $10 or somehtin

My shop does $40 walk in off the streets, $20 if you purchase either boots, bindings, or skis. We throw in a hand wax either way, and if you buy skis from us we give you a tune-up card worth 3 machine waxes, a post season wax, and a tune-up....usually people use up the 3 waxes by just using two to count for a hand wax price ($10).

I had to pay $50 for my PX 12s to egt mounted up on my MR's last year. These require a wide brake (which is like $45) but they threw those in for free (mostly because they would never sell it, being in NY) so I made out alright.

Shop guys need to eat too!!! I agree with this theory since the shop is taking all the risk. If something happens they are the ones who get sued not the e-bayer who sold it.

i had to get my bindings mounted in the summer and it cost $60 and took 2 weeks which i think is ridiculous

does getting holes filled usually cost extra cause my amplids came with predrilled wholes for their bindings or somthing like that

i think mine were 30 CAD but they probly gave me a deal cus i bought skis boots bindings poles in one day so

at my local shop it's 75 unless you buy them there.

then it's 25

im down with the dude who owns it(working for him later this month)

so he did mine for 25, but left them a little loose then told me to come back the week before i ski them.

he also said i could use his equipment for free

but i'm a noob so $25 it is...
