Corking Too Much

alright so today i tried corks on a backcountry booter for the first time. my first cork 7 i almost landed, not using the safety grab method. but then on my next 3-4 i did a d-spin on accident, getting inverted and shit. i think i can correct it..but any suggestions on how to make it smoother? i don't wanna totally eat shit when i try my first one in the park.

also i can show videos/pictures tomorrow
 
sounds like yours throwing your body back a little to much...try it with less of a flipping motion

i had the same problem i would almost go completely upside down

and yes videos would help a lot
 
ya i have a sequence of them too. and i did go completely upside down...saw it on the photos. prob get em' up tomorrow actually. finishing up spring break a.p. physics homework tonight and shots are at friend's.
 
one thing that helped a lot for me was to stop letting the lip do the work.

Pop really hard and set your own rotation and keep looking over your shoulder, this helped me a lot with knowing where i was in the air.

Don't lean back and let the lip flip you backwards.

I don;t know if you understood that.
 
even though i almost landed that one...this one wasn't too pretty. might have been about my 5th or 6th attempt...
















 
^I'm aware of not throwing it like the other tries, more like the first. I'm more looking for advice on techniques to help this...
 
like brownsteeze said wait till you get to the end of the jump and set your rotation with your pop. Think of it more like a spin that you lean to the side more than a flip.
 
thanks! that's good feedback. im gonna also try to set my spin later after the pop. i'll try it this weekend again i think. i'll put up vids or pics if i land it!
 
No problem. I know that when I learned corks, that was one of the big things that was stressed to me. Good luck.
 
that was sick! it was like inbetween a cork 5 and a cork 7. looks like you are starting to get them just keep trying and refining it till you can afterbang that shit.
 
ya brown yours was fucking d-spin. i saw your other cork videos too though. ya im just gonna try it when i go to hood on sunday. like i said im gonna try setting it later, not as hard, bringing my knees in, and work my way up to it after nailng my 7s. i'll hopefully get footy.

did not land the cork 7...but i did land my first switch 7. got it on film. everything is on friend's camera that he can't find the firewire to.
