Cork 5s

I was at a spring jam this past weekend and since high school sports are over I was going for it all. I love throwing fat carves into spins and finally sacked up for a cork 5. Tho I couldn't quite get that bitch all the way around. I have me setup carve start on the left side of the in run then carve back right to then carve left across the lip to spin left. I was getting the axis of the spin good but I kept coming up short..

So go bigger? I felt like I had plenty of air time but my just throwing the trick to slow?

Regardless, it'll have to wait till next season but just wanted some input!

Thanks Take it easy!

I think a video would help with some feedback. Hard to say without one, but it could be because of a couple things.

1) when you were carving you relied on it too much and didnt set hard enough

2) you stopped turning your shoulder/head

That's all i can presume without video, but go get it next year.

I can try and upload a video but it's from pretty far away, what you said makes sense. Thinking about it, I think I floated it out to much for the first time throwing it.

Thanks!!

how similar are setting hand drag 3's and cork 5's? i just landed my first cork 5 this season but i threw it straight off and kind of just hucked the cork part of it. i think it would look a lot better carving in like OP said but that's pretty much how i set my hand drag 3's and i guess i just don't spin it as hard so i stop at 3 rather than 5.

From my experience with cargo g into tricks it really helps. Before I tried a cork 5 I could already feel my body spinning off axis after the carve. So for me I just dropped my shoulder ever so slightly and tried to Paul my feet upwards to get the right axis of rotation. But carving helps a lot. You don't have to "huck" your body it the spin but rather let the radius of your skis pop you into your spin
