Cork 5 Tips/Advice

I wanna go for cork 5 this weekend, it's one of my favorite tricks to watch and it just looks so god damn fun. I can get the rotation on trampoline but unless I jump really high I always land on my ass or really backseat. I'm hoping that if I do it on skis that won't be an issue if I pick the right jump because the rotation's supposed to be easier while skiing anyways. So any tips on not landing backseat? Also, which safety should I go for when spinning left, left safety (tilt head to left shoulder and reach down on same side) or right safety (Tilt head left and grab opposite side)? Any advice would be much appreciated.

There’s two ways to do it:

do a cork sev but land early

do a cork 3 and continue the rotation

i Find natural safety feels right

The key is commitment. Good luck and post clips if you land

just keep carving hard off the lip of the jump and you'll get a feeling for it. to actually cork takes commitment, but carving into a 25ft jump will give you a good handle on it. lots of videos on youtube as well.

Yeah a good hard carve is key. So is proper craving technique

Imma just throw a laid back cork sev and spin less, thanks for the info

Ive heard of people just carving into a 5 and grabbing lead safety to do a baby cork, but I think I'm just gonna huck it and see how it goes. Iv'e found one video about cork 5 on ski addiction, but everybody seems to teach cork 7 or 3 on youtube from what I can find.

send a vid when you land it, as someone newer to spins past 360 id love to see this and how you go about corking it

I will trust. But i'm sure there are already thousands of cork 5's in edits and stuff you could look at to get familiar with the axis.

Any tips on how I can set this better/make it flippier? Besides getting more speed.

Carve carve carve. Carve like a good skier. Set your hips to the hill. Really close

I can get them pretty consistently by carving, but sometimes I want to cork off a jump that is like 3 feet wide and you cant really carve it without catching an edge do you have any tips for that or should I just stop trying them lol

Looks like you are really having to skate hard into that. Was it cus it was windy or is Eldora's park not quite as good as I heard?

Nah it's a good park for what it is but it was like 40 degrees yesterday and my skis are due for a wax.

Ah gotcha. I used to hate their park, and the whole mountain. But it's close and my buddy only had a pass there so I'd go once in a while. Last year though, they really stepped it up and I was impressed. Never made it out this year

It’s better to go for a cork 7 in that situation and then cut it a bit short

As said before try more of a carve into your actual pop. Also try thinking about setting your left ear down towards the take off (like a Lincoln loop), as you pop upwards out of your carve....The "Lincoln Loop" style set, combined with the carve and pop will send you into that flippy cork 5 rotation.
