I just facebook messaged Guerlain Chicherit, the owner, about this (no im not a fan boy, the facebook page came up on google and I saw him posting on there), as i am about to do a season in Tignes and would be stoked to support a company from the resort and the skis look sick. After seeing the USD pricing i was all set on buying them and wanted to do it directly through Core-upt so they get the profits as it doesnt seem there getting the publicity they should be. I think they have a lot of potential and could make some killer skis.
I got a reply immediately (really cool, its good to see big company manager still has the time to reply to randoms with answers to questions). However his response still dissapointed me somewhat as he confirmed that prices will be the same in USD and Euros, and said it was because of VAT i.e. Tax. seems silly to me that the skis cost 50% more to buy in there country of Origin than when there exported due to Tax reasons?! I mean 450 usd dollars x 117.5% (english vat rate, do not know the french version). = 528, which is still way short of the 670 USD equivalent us Euros are being charged.
