So I got a coreshot in my skis yesterday and I'm going to take them to the shop today, but does anybody have an idea of how long it takes to get it fixed and will I be able to ski on it an hour or two later?

Depending on how deep it is, there are different methods. I wouldn't worry about missing a day of skiing. I would worry more about getting a quality repair that will last the life of the ski.

When you go to the shop also buy a P-tex candle Will save you a bunch of time and money when after a hard day of shredding you can get those knicks and dings out of there!

Can you see wood or is it more of a superficial scratch? Deep shots should be base welded and then the skis should be ground after. Dont cheap out on repairs, get them done the right way the first time to save you time, money, a headache and most importantly your skis later down the line!

How big? Sounds like a $1 ptex candle and a scraper will do you just fine.

Ptex'ing skis is incredibly easy, and ptex sticks generally cost $1. Given Utah's season so far I've taken a few, just read a bunch of blogs and how-to videos and have fixed them all myself. Buy a stick, a lighter, and a scraper and save yourself a bunch of $$.
