Core ski shop in Tahoe

i'm gonna be flying into Tahoe this weekend but i won't have my skis with me. i figure it's a perfect time to demo some of the new sticks i've been eyeing. what's the best shop in the Tahoe area that can supply demos?

Granite Chief in Truckee had a demo day last spring at Squaw and brought out Black Crows, Faction, Sego and a whole bunch of bigger brands. Might be worth a try?

Also Alpenglow in Tahoe City but I think they're pretty focused on backcountry.

Tahoe Dave’s probably has the biggest selection of demo skis. But the coolest most core shop in Tahoe in my opinion is Tahoe Sports Hub. However they are more backcountry oriented. Not sure what they have to offer with demos though.

dude i would absolutely demo a pair of Moments but i'm landing at 11 on Friday night and they're going to be closed for the rest of the weekend. i've been wanting to check out moments ever since witnessing kc deane ripping on them in Voleurz's "Look on the Bright Side" and "That's Fine"

Dave's is by far the least core shop in tahoe....go to sports hub or something a little more chill.

yo Gaia, i contacted the Moment VP directly and tried to get an after-hours backdoor special to try and cop a demo pair but unfortunately moment is a no-go for this weekend.

The conditions are shit right now so a lot of places may not be sending out their good stuff yet. That said, Tahoe Sports Hub is my fave. They demo about 80% of the lineup they sell. Also they keep telling me that they'll mount up anything in the store with demo bindings if you want to try it, but I've never taken them up on the offer. Also they have the new Rossi Backops right now, which apparently many shops don't. TSH doesn't carry Faction and a couple other brands. Nobody in Tahoe carries ON3P.

I'm the one you talked with on the website.

Wish I could help out but we've been working extra days and longer hours for most of late November and all of December just to keep up with orders. We're also crazy low on available demos as we simply don't have enough stock to warrant throwing them into the demo fleet. Skis are leaving the factory faster than we can make them and everyone needs a little break over the weekend to go skiing and recharge.

Make a trip back out and have some time during the week and we'll for sure get you set up on some demos. We've been talking about a weekend shift for the showroom / demos, but just haven't had the time to set it up or find employees to fill those days.

The conditions aren't that bad considering it's the middle of December. I can't speak to Northstar I don't know if they've had a lot of natural snow yet but I know abortionator has been blowing snow all over the park. Some of the other mountains have some decent terrain open for this time of year.

dude!! thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me. that was awesome. seriously. i can tell you right now no other ski company is that approachable and down to earth. i totally understand you guys have orders out the wazoo and are crushing the holiday rush. keep killing it. i’ll be back in the near future and i’ll get clipped into come moments and it’ll be life changing

dude i fully agree with you. i called up Dave’s to demo their K2 Poachers but they initially didn’t know what that ski was... then they found it in their shop but said i couldn’t demo because it’s too early in the season...i’m hitting up Granite Chief

Could be wrong but from my experience granite chief loves to charge top dollar
