i was just there, and the people helping me didnt know jack shit. i asked for a stick of p-tex to melt into my bases, and he came back with a sheet of clear plastice, like lexan. but i got the p-tex. 20 minutes after leaving, i realized they didnt charge me for a metal base scraper either. i'd love to work there though. first place in ct ive seen a armada shirt, they have good shit

nah that bruce guy knew what i needed, but the kids behind the counter kept saying "what the fuck", having no idea what they were doing

i work there... the new kids are idiots. I just tech (mount, tune, what ever needs to be done). you talk to bruce, jamie, or one of us that know whats going on then fattys is the shit

im heard alpine haus stepped it up this year and have armadas and 4frnts now havent been in there since like september so cant vouche for it myself

Sportworks, Duxbury MA

Ski market Pembroke is legit too. its not your typical ski market. most ppl in there know their shit

they have deffinetly stepped up with skis. I know a few of the employees and they said that they will contiune to carry armada, rossignol, dynastar, 4frnt, k2, volkl. they have tons of gear for snowboarding especially for apparel but they said they won't be carrying much ski company apparel such as orage cause of prices and lack of interest from skiers. For ski clothing they carry helly hansen, spyder, scott, predator, fate and very few obermeyer stuff.

While it is not a "core" shop it is a very good shop with decent prices and great service and selection

What are you talking about?

Fire On The Mountain throws down the 3 biggest movie premiere party's every fall.

They set up and organized the first ever rail jam in southern NH -pulled it off despite no natural snow.

They helped market and distribute "Right" one of the only East Coast movies this year.

They hook up and sponsor 3 skiers at various comps all season long.

They were the first shop in southern NH to sell Armada, Orage Masters, Lib Tech skis etc, etc, etc....

Dude - get a clue!! I'm sure the other shops listed are good shops- but you are seriously wrong about FOTM

i was at attitash for their bud light rail jam the other day. some like 50 year old guy comes up in the lodge and says 'so whats FOTM stand for?... i thought it stood for fuck old time moms'. he had two kids with him too, it was so funny

Dude don't tell me to get a clue. I have the clue. I was basing that comment off of the owner. He is a greedy money hungry guy who cares nothing about the future of skiing. Some of the guys at the shop are great. Your tech paul is a fucking meathead who doesn't even know how to center mount skis. Yeah man FOTM throws some events it's cool. I'm talking about the roots of the company sorry if i messed up my comment.

You really are clueless. If the owner was a greedy money hungry bastard as you say he is - he wouldn't be in the ski business as everyone knows that there is no big money to be made. He also wouldn't be out chopping up frozen snow and setting up giant tents in the freezing cold or taking nice skis off the wall for prizes for the rail jam.

The techs at FOTM ask every skier who buys twin tips where they want the bindings mounted and will cord measure every ski to make sure the binding placement is correct. Some shops don't know what cord measurement is.

How many shop owners spend (that's spend not make) thousands of dollars to throw preseason ski parties? Not too many. If more shops cared about the sport of skiing instead of making money off skiing -there would be more independent shops and more independent ski compaines being successful.

Oh and by the way, FOTM was one of the key retail advisors in launching BERN helmets which is one of coolest helmets companies anywhere.

Totem Pole in Ludlow (okemo) and yes I work there... Owner more or less invented freestyle (hotdog skiing)

I like most of the places in Okemo such as odysset, totem, northern, etc but the downside is that none of them carry 4frnt or armada so you have to go up to killington if you want that stuff. I suggest that you guys look into that

alpin haus sucked...they had the new p.e. n scratches...never got the armads nor 4frnts..but they will prolly step it up next yr

you obviously didn't read my post. they had scratches, pe's, trouble makers, all armadas, all 4frnts, volkls, fujatives..lots of skis. only thing they sorta lack is freeski outerwear

There are reasons we don't carry Amarda... but will be giveing them another look for next year.. 4Frnt really dosn't make an east cost core ski... any one have an opinion on that?

i ride the STL and it does fairly well on the ice and crud..probably not as good as the PE or somethin similar but still rides well

FOTM, Happy Tunes in Carabassett Valley. Happy tunes is definitely a core shop, they are closed in the middle of the day so the employees can go skiing, although they do lack in variety of twins tips.

I don't even know? Do you even work there? Bob is not the man. He is a two-timing greeedy backstabbing bastard. Lahout's is a much better shop and pretty much any other shop besides philbricks and western auto.

u cant say which shop is good because everyone has prefrense but i seem to be hearing alot of the same shops:

1. summit

2. fire on the mountain

3. freds

4. fattys

ok to start, freds freeride is out of business, and for a real good reason. the guy had some of the worst business ethics in the industry. to this day he owes hans from armada something like 15g's.

im suprised nobody has mentioned evolution freeride in the basin at killington. granted im partial to the shop because i work there, but we do our best to support the sport. this year we carried 4frnt, armada, line, k2, salomon and atomic twins. we also are one of the only shops in the world to carry the orage gallery line, as well as being one of the biggest dealers of siver cartel outerwear in the east right now. aside from that, we're super close to our reps, and try to help out with local kids getting sponsored. its also pretty easy to find a deal at evolution. we were selling last years fujatives for like 180 bucks until they sold out. pretty much everything from last year is 50% off. stop in sometime after riding, grab some stickers/posters and watch a ski movie or something.
