I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't held because of the incident last year with Jean Gagnon. Many people vowed never to return.

 
also last year some skiboarder went for a 900 ( i don't think it's the same guy as was mentioned before), got knocked out real bad and stopped breathing, and the ski patrol had no idea what to do, then they asked if there was a doctor in the crowd, and finally 20 minutes later they found one and the skiboarder was alright. the skiing big air was next, but most of the skiers refused to jump.

 
Ya, that was Jean. The skiers refused to jump and split the prise money evenly.

oh k sorry then, that's scary stuff, being knocked out cold then not breathing. . he must have slammed hard to do that.

 
I'm pretty sure the Core Games got cancelled this year actually. I was told they were to be run during late February but that got scrapped for all sorts of reasons. Not 100% sure but I'm 75% confident that they got cancelled. Sucks if you ask me.

in freeze they say there's no medical staff there and the skiboard guy was unconscience 4 20 min on the ground b4 ne 1 went in to help him. so i guess they either cancel the core games or some of the pros will not show, the top pros(jf,fp, vinni,etc) didn't go big and agree to split the money on the big air comp. after what happened to the skiboarder

 
Thats gay, i mean, if i had to go after that, i woldn't either, but taking nthe prize money without giving the crowd a show seems wrong to me. I think that they would try to have if again but they would have a ambulance on scene.

i was there. it was crazy. the core games was off the hook until the accident at the end. i got to flirt with sarah burke, talked to tanner hall for about 20 mins, and drank with evan raps and philou poirier. everyone loved the event minus the ending. japan is crazy about skiing and is the biggest supporter of the new school movement. this event will be sorely missed if it is not held. well anyway i will ski for 6 weeks of vacation at naeba, japan. if anyone is in the area look me up at swallow lodge right across the street from Naeba.
