Core companies

which companies do you think are core? i would rather buy from a core company who supports the industry and their riders.

I can think of

ec headewear

jiberish

sag straps

rime knits

what do you mean?

ski industry or freestyle industry? line and armada are core in a sense of them supporting us a lot, but they are also bigger companys so some may not consider them core. others like ninthward and bluehouse are plenty core too, just a different kind of core .

i hate the word "core", but here are the companies that are keepin it real (and having it not go wrong)

surface, saga, jiberish, uni threads, line

I agree with you in some way. Some comapnies supports the industry more than others and not in a true marketing way.

Airblaster, Omatic Snowboards, Union Bindings. Capita Snowboards. Celtek Gloves. Holden Outerwear,

Just from off the top of my head.

Yeah, I'm a snowboarder.

Salomon. i know people dont like them but they put so much money into the sport and sponsor so many rippers. they sponsor tons of movies and really have revolutionized skiing

actually the CORE of the ski business is exactly the opposite.

Atomic, Salomon, Rossignol, etc... are the companies driving the ski business. these companies produce pricepoint equipment that is easily affordable for your average joe that wants to get his family into skiing. without those big companies, i can guarantee none of you would have ever been put onto a set of skis.

the small companies appeal to no one but park skiers that want to be different (to be like every other park skier). they don't provide affordable product and those that do have lower priced gear often do not provide retailers with enough margin to make carrying their product worthwhile. if they were the "CORE" of the business, their product would be a lot more accessible than strictly online for the vast majority of skiers. i'm not saying there is no place for these brands but you seriously need to stop calling them "CORE" companies.

that is all...

How can Line be core when they are owned by K2? I like Line skiis but core is usually small time to me Line is part of a megacorp though.

i'm pretty sure by "core" he meant the opposite of what you just said. a company that is still in touch with what a passionate ski athlete wants. not what appeals to the mass public. in my oppion most companys are still pretty core. they all seem to put alot into this industry for the love of skiing not just for money. armada line 4frnt and most other's were started by professional skiers.

i agree.

plus they have a lot of respect for their athletes, which is not every brand 's case (cough rossignol cough)

theres a difference between being core like moment or on3p and contributing to the skiing community in was like salomon, salomon make some awesom stuff but is anything but core

^^^^ and i assumed we were taling core as in skiing centric small companies who havent been bought by bigger corporations, hell i use to have a salomon snowboard maybe 10 years ago, haha its still sitting in my basement,

You are joking right? Oakley has gone so corporate/mainstream the last couple of years. Sure they support the ski industry, but they are all about selling sunglasses to Bubba in Kentucky and sponsoring shit like volleyball and sailing. That is not core

I know of this one company, that is so core, nobody has even heard of them yet. And they're the ONLY COMPANY THAT CARES ABOUT SKIING!11

In that case, that would make Full Tilt out too because they are also K2? but just cause a company is owned by a bigger one doesnt mean they too are a big Corp too
