so at 1130 this kid calls and asks if i wanna go smoke, i just got some new stuff so i figured drivin and smokin wouldn't be a bad idea, so he picks me and this other kid up and we had to go grab a dutch, so we park in this PARKING LOT and a fucking cop pulls up, meanwhile one kid is grabbing a dutch and i have an eigth on me, he asks for registration and stuff, and then starts being a deuchebag, the kid who's drivin got his licence about a month earlier, so the cop started getting all serious about shit, and then he asks the driver if he'd been drinking(the kid hadn't dranked or smoken all day or night), so then he asks him to get out of the car and take a sobriety test, the kid takes one and has no problems, finally the kids mom had to ocme pick us up, i stashed my weed under the seat of the car, and the cops let us park the car back in the parking lot and said pick it up tonight,

so my questions are

A. were they allowed to pull us over if we were in a

parking lot

B. since i put my weed under the seat, is the cop

going to be allowed to search teh car after we've

already left and i put the weed under the seat and

the car is locked
 
Well I belive he needs a reason to search your car and. And if he breaks in to search then HE has a problem. Just dont get caught with the weed.

he doesnt have enough proof to get a search warrent. You have nothing to worry about.

You were on private property. so liscence was unnecasary, but he can ask for id.
 
if a cop just pulls up to u in a parking lot then chances are somebody called the cops and asked them to check out your vehicle. as long as u werent caught doing anything illegal then i dont think that they have the right to search your vehicle so i think u should be ok.
 
police and parking lots laws are way different. you can pretty much do whatever the fuck you want and they wont pull you over. so basically no laws in parking lots. ha ha ha ha ha

a cop can pretty do what they want i would say. ive been pulled over by a cop for squealing my tires on a U turn and the minute rolled down my window of my car and had the cop say it smells like alcohol and then sees i was a minor i was fair game to him. but no one had been drinking. it was just 1 in the morning and a bunch of college friends. we all got breathalized but no one got in trouble. just sent on our way. went through the back of my car. i didnt care though we didnt have anything. just tons of ski gear. i had him pull it all out.
 
hes obvioulsey being a bitch if he is going to pull over some kids in the parking lot...and he needs a warrent to search ur car.
 
a cop can just make up probable cause. who will be believed? a law enforcement person or a bunch of kids who are 16?
 
he doesnt need a warrent hes just needs like an excuse to search your car ... they can just like ask u if they can have a look in your car and if u say no then they have suspicion to search so your fucked anyway
 
okay what he did was illegal. he had no right to come up to you, never mind give the driver a sobreity test. the cop wouldnt be able to search the car unless a crime had alrady been commited in the vacinity of said car or if he had probable cause i.e. you smelled like weed or he saw the bag, so your weed is fine. even if he did find it, im almost posotive your case would be thrown out. i would be heated if this happened to me.
 
seriously? one of my friends got fucked over that way..... he said no to the cops searching his backpack so the cops like threw him to the ground and searched it anyway
 
but they can get the k9 if they feel you have shit and then the k9 will walk around the car and if he smells stuff, its probable cause. don't try to fight the law, you usually lose
 
Same this happened to me one time, I met somebody in a parking lot and a cop suddenly pulls up and shines his spot light in our eyes, comes up to the door, asks my friend (driver) to get out, and the 2nd thing he asks is "have you been drinking." The person we met hadnt been but we each had a couple beers with us and spilled over.

He was for sure a douche and might have gone further, but there was an accident on the highway that he had to go to, and my friends mom picked us up. You gotta be careful about the whole cop thing with getting your car searched and stuff. just don't consent to a search and he'll be a douche and say he will get a warrant, but usually they will be too lazy to do it, unless they think youre like coke dealing or something. You can say no to a breathalizer and stuff, but then they have to right to arrest you, and also, they cant bring up the info from the sobriety test into court.
 
legally you have less rights at school. you can be searched based entireley on suspisicion, whereas elesewhere a cop would need probable cause. So if someone snitched out your friend, the school or the police can search him/his property on school grounds.
 
How the fuck is he a douchebag or an asshole? You were obviously doing something illegal and you said you were sitting in a car in a parking lot at 1130 at night? That's sketchy if you hadn't noticed.
 
well a bunch of "teenagers" sitting in an abandoned parking lot in a car in the middle of the night raises eyebrows about new licence regulations etc...plus, you had weed on you, so he was right to check (in the eye of did he have any right to check)

but no he can't search your car
