Cops: Teen girl killed on Facebook-arranged date

VILNIUS, Lithuania — Lithuanian police say a 14-year-old boy has admitted killing a 13-year-old girl he met through Facebook.Police spokeswoman Dalia Petrauskiene says the girl from the town Alytus was murdered after arranging on the popular social networking site to meet the boy, who lives in the capital, Vilnius. Her half-naked body was found at a bus stop outside Vilnius on Sunday.The spokeswoman said Monday that the boy confessed to the killing. If found guilty of murder he faces a maximum 10-year sentence.
 
Wow, 10 whole years.... in a juvenile correction... weak sauce.I believe the term premeditated should come into play....

i agree, but this kind of shit is hard.. true, he is just a kid, but jeez.. premeditated murder? guess you have to put faith in the parole board etc..
 
It goes to show that the justice system is soft now. They are gonnna play the whole "hes just a kid" card regardless if it was premeditated or not.
 
just because it was a prearranged date doesnt mean the murder was premeditated lets not jump to conclusions here
 
seriously? he's a 14 year old kid who pretty clearly has some heavy mental issues. is locking him up in a baltic prison until 2050 really going to help anyone? i don't know anything about the lithuanian justice system, but i'd guess/hope it has a heavy emphasis on rehabilitation over wrote punishment in this instance.
 
They need to do more research into why he killed her. Is he completely mentally stable. That's awful young to be a murderer and I feel as if there would be background circumstances that led to the murder.
 
I am completely in awe to why he killed her? I mean it is lithuania but what the fuck. 14 year olds just don't wake up one day and decide they are going to kill someone from facebook.
 
everyone makes mistakes some more than others. Murder is pretty fucking bad, 10 years doesnt seem like enough to me, maybe 10 years minimum but he def deserves at least 15 he is old enough to know right and wrong
 
Why exactly is it necessary to mention that Facebook was involved. I'm sure this will become one of those shutdown social networks rallying cries.
 
Kind of an agree and disagree thing for me. Yeah she could still be alive if she didn't use facebook. But don't you think people learned their lessons with meeting people over the internet after all that bullshit with myspace back in like 2005-2007 era?
 
True. But is lithuania and most of that myspace predator shit happened in the states. I'm sure lithuania couldn't care what happens in the states.
