Cops and urbans

yo i search bared this and no results came up. i'm real into hitting some urbans this upcoming winter, and just curious as to what cops do when they show up while your hitting an urban feature. do they just simply tell you to clean everything up and leave right away, or will they take you back to the pig pen and and make you pay? i'm seventeen turnign eighteen in november so i don't really want anything on my record, or my rents called, even though they wouldn't care. but yeah, what happens?
 
well one time i was doing parking stopper on a hill and the cops just told be to go home haha
 
i wondering this to i guess its best to have dealt with the cops before my town has pretty much no crime so cops will get you for anything possible
 
i be cool with the cops, liike i won't be a dick about it or anythign. hopefully they'll just tell me to leave. and how often do cops show up?
 
yes if u have friends that mouth off to the cops or people dont bring them cause it probably will get u in more trouble i just kept quite and did what he told me
 
Around where I am, they often have timed rounds, so they'll come by the same spot on a rough schedule, as it's been said, it depends on the cop: sometimes they'll let you finish up and just watch and be stoked, but alternately they could make your life hell and charge you for vandalism, destruction of property, trespassing or anything else they could think of. It seems that usually they just tell you to clean up and leave.
 
ive been busted by cops round 20 times or so, and from my experience I have learned it is best to do the following: when cops are coming up to bust you dont keep hitting the rail, walk up and meet them, show respect, be understanding, know that they are just doing there job. If they say you have to pack it up and leave, then say you understand, shut up and leave, because you can be ticketed, but chances are they will only ticket you if you show them disrespect. Lots of times they are ok with it, they just had to come and check it out because someone called and reported it. Show them your not breaking anything, just trying to ski and have fun. Ive had cops sit and watch us session a rail for hours and they were stoked. Just show respect and get respect, or gtfo
 
The Truth. Just remember to be respectful and you will have no problems. Its pretty much that way with everything
 
THANKS! This really makes me fell better bout hitting rban. But what about on a college campus. Anybody know what campus cops do if you get busted?
 
campus police will tell you to leave.

because they have to deal with both skiing/boarding and skateboarding. the rails would get wrecked soo fast.
 
they can be the hugest douchewads in the world, but most of the time they don't have the power to punish you since campus cops aren't always fully certified. where i live the campus cops are the biggest chodes i've ever met (at least most of them)
 
i've been asked to leave by campus police. I had actually just started shoveling in front of a rail and the cop was watching me and asked me if i was planning on "sliding" the rail. i wasn't going to lie so i told him yes and he politely asked me not too. you'll be fine.
 
I have been just told to leave many times. Usually if you are nice they are nice. This last winter though, we were having a night session and some cops showed up on their rounds. They were really disrespectful to us for no reason and gave us $200 tresspassing/being in a park after hour tickets that we had to go to court for. But again this was at night, so I think they get a little freaked out if you have lights and generators and junk. Aside from this experience though, if I was nice, they were nice.
 
i had some cops come up on us while we were in a neighborhood park. We started to pack and i started to take off my gear and they told use to put our gear back on and they wanted to see what all the complaints were about. They then had all of us hit it one more time. They we took everything down and everyone left. It was cool. i just wish we would have video taped it.
 
From my experience, I agree with the "be respectful" advice. No matter how much of a dickhead a cop is being, he can always make it worse.

My question really is what can they bust you for? After hours in the park; it's trumped up but I can see that maybe. Jibbing on private property, I can see that. But if you're jibbing on public property, what laws are you actually breaking? Anyone know the answer to that one?
 
public property is state, town, or federal owned, therefore, you're still trespassing. So they can get you that and vandalism (yes, they can arrest for vandalism even though you're not intentionally doing it, you are messing up their rails and concrete) plus you're usually putting snow somewhere unsafe, which is why it was shoveled away, so they can also get you for public endangerment. But, as long as you're not a dick, they tell you to shovel away the snow and go home...and most likely they will stay and watch you clean up, especially if they have nothing better to do.
 
I've never gotten shit for skiing urban but definitely on my BMX. I've been stopped multiple times and the one time i was an ass i got cuffed, mind you the cop was being a cunt too but still. I dont know if it already got said but sometimes its good to pretend to not know anything. If they ask you if you know your on private property just say you didn't know etc. that way hopefully they think you didn't intend to do anything wrong and let you off the hook. If they start asking information and giving you citations and shit i say just go off on them and try to offend them as much as you can cause your fucked anyways. Finally you can appeal most things in court and the officer who issued the ticket has to come to court on his own time so unless he is a monster ass you'll probably get off scott free.
 
^i figure at 2 in teh morning cops would be more likely to show up cause its when shit goes down normally
 
cops are just bad people with a low sense of selfesteem and poor morals. don't ever let a cop tell you what to do, just play the lawyer card and it usualy scares the shit outa um.

and if they do give you a ticket, just threaten to say they melested you or some shit, so they get fucked in the butt and hopefully booted outa the force.

if not don't do this, because cops don't get that scared of lawyers especially if they did nothing wrong.

and most likely the judge will go in the cops favor.
 
has anyone ever tried/ removed blockers from a rail to hit it? i'm not an idiot, so i know you would get in a lot of trouble for this, but i'm just wondering how bad it would be
 
It all depends if the ppl who own the place get pissed and what the rules are about that kind of thing.Chances are if you're respectful and leave when they tell you to you'll be fine. Just like don't try to run or be a dick... thats just stupid.
