COP PARK PASS?!?!

yo so i was checkin out the cop site and i came along this:

Remember to stop by Guest Services and watch the 10 min. video and fill

out the terrain park flyer that is required in order to use the terrain

park and half pipe!

...is it gonna work??

thats the stupidest fucking thing i've ever heard in my life...some 5 year old kid with half a brain can stand there, watch it, and go "okay, i'll do that" and sign it and be in the park...whoopy!! this is so pointless

yee i think some lil kids might get intimidated, but then theres gonna be the ones who are cocky n think that they can go in...but oh well lets see how it turns out

well it stopped ski schools from doing it, but there still a bunch of terrible people in there. They all stayed on the right side of the pipe and the good stuff is on the other side. And all we had to do for tha pass was listen to a 5 minute speech and sign a paper.

did not work at all. I got the shit scared outta me today when I came within inches of landing on some girls head. She decided to randomly turn into the landing of a jump. cool. lots of other little kids in there too that didn't know what they were doing at all.

i doesnt work...there's as many little dumbasses as last year and me and my friends almost landed on like 4 people today sitting on landings. they shoulda setup a rail and if you could slide it or spin a small jump you could get the pass...not watch some lame ass video. good idea, bad execution

I was just going to post on thread on this.

After skiing a few runs in the park, I was told that I needed a 'park pass'. Fine, but the ticket booth could of told me that BEFORE I got on the hill.

I go in to get one, and there video presentation isn't working and they can't give me a 'park pass'. I get my pass refunded, but she couldn't refund 2 hours WASTED on driving, getting ready, trying to ski and driving back plus $10 for gas.

What a waste of time and gas. Poor execution on their part. I've never had this problem at Lake Louise and their park is twice as deadly.

dude the video wasnt working when i got mine, i just listened to a guy blab for 5 minutes. But i definitely agree on having people be tested in the burton progression park before even letting them into the big park. That way if they get rejected they can always learn in the tiny burton park and then try again when theyre better.

I agree with the idea, just poor execution.

She said I HAD to listen to the video and there was no other way. I would of listented to some guy talk for 5 mins...

the whole fucking idea is stupid period...i would be fine with the little kids riding the top park cuz they can actually throw down on some of the stuff up there...theys hould be checking these "park passes" when you start going down around the corner to the main park...and these passes should have some kind of mandatory prelimanary testing procedure to see if kids actually know how to jump/slide

i went last night and almost landed on a kid on the second bigs landing...and there was another kid climbing up on his hands and knees on the step-ups take off...

the execution of this idea is complete horseshit hands down

This is stupid. I understand why people are pissed about little numpties in the way, but on the other hand, how are they supposed to learn? We were all probably "that little kid" at one point. They should maybe make 2 parks. One for beginners only, where the little grommets can learn, and not be intimidated by older people. And one for people who know what they are doing, and want to throw down.

they did have the progresson park tho right....but that disappeard...but yee i like the idea of have to show what u can do, just makes sence really...but they should get the little park back for the little kids...

They should make a beginner area and shift the greenies there. It'd divided up as small/big right now with the pipe in the middle, just need some smaller rails or something..

dont worry im bitching my ass off to them about it too, ill see what they say tonight, in theory there is always supposed to be 2 patrolers in the park checking passes, booting guys without helmets, fixing broken fuckers, and kicking these little kids out....in theory

i don't mean to be a dick or anything but the fucking cockbag patrollers stand at the top/bottom doing dick all...one was just busting guys cuz they were filming at the very bottom down box with no helmet on while little shits were crawling up take offs n everything

the progression park should be re-opened...and the top park should be open to everyone...the big park, which is where the park passes need to be inforced...should start where the bottom of the top park is...then that way groms have a good stomping ground at the top and bottom to get good enough to step it up to the main park

and i fully stand behind the idea of having some sort of initiation/test to get the "big park pass"...this is straight up bullshit whats going on right now

thats cop for you though...fuckin HR gets an idea...says sweet...then fucks it in the ass and this kind of shit happens

i agree completely! there should be a minimum talent level to get into the big park, the top park should be open to everyone, the park pass should be used for the main park and they should re open or put the progression park on the other side of the hill, that way everyone would be happy

totally...everyone should have to be able to do a rail and at least spin a mediocre jump to get in. id actually put forth some effort and get that damn pass!

i think one of the main things about it, sad as it is, is for liability for us to have a big park we need to at least get signatures telling people that they know its big and if they fuck up there are consequences, it also allows us more legality when we boot out dumbasses for fucking about. There will always be kids, hopefully the patrol will cut down on this, but you know as well as i do that it wont always work,

yea of course legality comes into play with this and building liability insurance...but when parents of kids under 18 hear their little smart ass kid go "i promise i'll do that" even though they won't it just fucks this system up completely...

liability or not...the way they went about this issue was completely wrong...like i said above...put the fucking progression park back in, thats WHAT ITS FOR!! and keep the top open to public...thats more than enough room to learn how to ride the big stuff that poses a large threat to yours, and others' lives.

what they're doing now is just dumb...unsafe, and dumb...they could be using half the patrol staff they have now if they instituted what im talking about...and have the other half doing the "initiation" tests so that only qualified skiers/riders are on the more advanced terrain

you don't need patrollers in the park if theres nobody in the park to worry about...correct??

like how hard is it to put together what im describing...not hard at all...cop is just too fucking stupid and lazy to come to their senses...they constantly try to please too many people at once and fuck it up somehow...

they didnt check me once today, me and the guy at the entrance would always just nod and he would let me in, he must have known how super dupder i am, but i think the pass thing is working, i saw the guy turn around alot of little kids and people who would have been getting in the way

i was just there, and i dont think it was working at all. They were handing out forms at the top and you dont even need to go inside the building at all to get the pass.

it shouldnt be a test on your jumping abilitys. maybe just do a straight air or somthing. but you should get the whole speach on importnat stuff. all they told me was "wear a helmet and dont do anything your not comfortable with" they should be telling the kids like not to go near stuff unless they are hitting it. (dont jump off rail takeoffs) and like usefull stuff like not stopping in the pipe and not skiing on landings.

and if they see you doing shit like that it should be zero tolerance. they shuld be forced to return to the top park

The ski hill is there to make money, and so their goal is to sell as many lift tickets/passes as possible. Having the terrain park as expert only and an elitist place will reduce ticket sales from the little kids. Who are actually a huge source of revenue. All this park test stuff to get in the park is bullshit. The little kids will always be in the park. It will never go further than these park passes and if it does than someone in management fucked up. The terrain park is and will be for everyone. There will never be tests to get in. Get over it.

friedcheese shove it up your ass...twice...read what i wrote last there buddy...of course little kids are HUGE revenue...and with the top park and progression park and the bottom they will not lose ANY sales...its a spot for kids to learn and progress to the size and ability level of the big park...i still think and say they're should be an initiation test type of thing before you can get into the bigger shit...its safer, smarter, and liability issues will be way lower...they're insurance for comps won't be so fucked up...think about it

they arent even trying anymore. today i got in just because i was carrying around the flyer, unsigned, in my pocket. its retarded. there are kids in there that do maybe one jump, then ride down the side to the bottom.

oh its worse than that, they didnt even have someone checking passes at the top from like 8-9 today. And the kids that hit one jump are tons better than the ones that snowplow down. But i dont even care. They all stay out of the main jump line and thats the only thing i really hit.
