Cop charged with murder for shooting a black man

cop pulled the dude over for broken tail light, he seemed to be a bit belligerent, then he tried running away. The cop then shoots him in the back as he runs and he died.

cop is now facing a murder charge, which I'd say is acceptable since if you're a cop you're shooting to kill so he's essentially handing out a death sentence for resisting arrest.

Here is one of these situations that looks pretty clear cut. That was definitely not the proper use of force. I guess the officer forgot he had legs and could chase the man down.
 
I'd be curious to know what was happening when he started running. It looked like there was an altercation to me. Is what the cop did justifiable though? No.

The amount of times these involve a white guy cop on black guy trying to get away is staggering.

Whether this is a racist cop or a trigger happy cop. There needs to be a huge retraining of police and police policy's. And more punishment for police abusing their power.
 
damn they sure were in a hurry to help a guy who just got shot. bet those handcuffs were necessary too. mildly obese, critically wounded people are fast as hell!
 
sound and looks at the beginning of the video the guy was first hit with a stun gun and then he started to run and the cop fired 8shots at em 5ft to 10ft away. being that close you could tackled the guy down instead of gunning him down. the man just had 8shots fired at em, why be telling him to put his hands behind his back when the man looks dead on the ground. cops these days need to start learning how to handle the situation

without taking someone's life. cops don't need to be using there guns unless there getting shot at first. idk the whole story behind all of it. but it sucks to see a person get gun down for something stupid.
 
i can't imagine any set of circumstances that would justify this. what the fucking fuck was that cop thinking? he doesn't deserve that badge.
 
Looked like shoot to kill. That's so fucked. This doesn't seem like a case of self defense, rather just a cop not wanting to run after a guy. Does anyone have any more info on the background? Pulled over for a rear tail light being out if I'm not mistaken...

Right? Then you compare that to the video of the cops trying to save those two cops in NY that got assassinated. They were running all over the place trying to save them even though they were both clearly dead.

haha just high school vandalism/being idiots type stuff. We saran wrapped the same intersection in our town every Saturday night for an entire summer and they didn't catch any of us until the last weekend and they set up a trap (So that's like 14 times right there). Lighting bags of poop on fire, smashing pumpkins, just being overall jackasses to be honest. Just wanted to point out that just because you run from the cops doesn't mean you deserve to get shot.

I'm all for cops using deadly force when their lives are at risk.......................... But Fuck, how in the hell could he justify using his weapon in this circumstance. The guy was obese and slow as fuck, and was in no means a threat to the officer. Why not chase him down and give him a lil beat down.

realistically it'll get knocked down to manslaughter (just a prediction, not saying it's right or wrong), but definitely can't see the prosecution seeking death penalty...

this is awful though, this right here is a surefire case of excessive force

Or really any country anywhere. Most developed nations don't have police who are so willing to use this type of force... and furthermore, aren't part of a culture which is so generally lax on their use of deadly force...

Shit, even in Israel, or South Korea there are less... where everyone is a trained and at least formerly conscripted soldier, and chicks have M16's on their shoulder while wearing bikinis at the beach...

IDF soldier chicks during/after the 2nd/3rd infitadas...

Well people are pretty lazy in America, seems the cop was as well. If he had shot him once in the legs he couldve brought him down so much easier. Im pretty sure he was late for some payment....Because he was poor and now the family has to deal with paying for a funeral. Go America!

The problem is, when a cop discharges his weapon, it is with the intent to kill. Shooting to injure is not authorized. 2 to the chest, 1 to the head.

Sort of a dark subject.

Who would have paid for the hospital after they shoot him in the leg? The taxpayer? Good try dissing America but you're hate is misguided here.
