What's up? Decided to start this thread with cool questions/paradoxes/ideas...please add?

IF GOD CAN DO ANYTHING CAN HE MAKE A CHILI PEPPER SO HOT HE CAN'T EAT IT?

IF THE WORLD REALLY STARTED WITH THE BIG BANG WHAT WAS THERE BEFORE...DID TIME EVEN EXIST?

If god can do anything can he make a chili pepper so hot he can't eat it?

its only a matter of time until we all die, but what is time and what does it matter?

Assuming we can travel in time and i go back and kill your father before your born. How is this possible because i wouldn't have known you and thus i couldn't know who your father was?

If god can do anything can he make a chili pepper so hot he can't eat it?

The big bang question is retarded, and I won't tell you the answer, because then you don't really know what the big bang was.

i have a big bang waiting in my pants for any of you lucky ladies out yonder.

I just watched donny darko (sp) today, thats a wicked movie.

and since every thing we see happens before we see it is it possible to travle forward in time?

whoever asked the retarded question about the big bang theory is retarded. for one, time is something man made... and the big bang wasn't just like a random expolosion that created the earth.. it's a theory about a cycle that the earth goes through, and is still going through.. the 'big bang' is just part of that cycle.

Are you gay? There's a fucking question for you. contemplate it.

WA skiers are cool. I'm a WA skier. I'm cool. You know, Washington apples are cool too. . .

'assuming i can travel in time' - haha, well once u have time travel figured out, i think u'd know the answer to your question.

just a stupid fact, but did you know that if you left earth at say 30 years old and had a 10 yearold kid, and you travled to the nearest start at close to light speed, you would get there anc come back and be like 40 years old and you son would be like 50 years old. ( I know i got the ages messed up but its along the lines that you would come back being younger than your own kid because the faster you travle, you actully slow time down.) also the closer you get to a black whole the stronger the gravitational field grows and the faster you come towards the blck whole, but in fact your boddy parts clossest to the black whol would accelerate much faster than your body parts furthest from the black whole. An with the idea that the faster you go the more you slow down time, you would be getting ripped apart but wold seem to live forever because the closer you get the more time slows down meaning at some point in getting sucked in by the black whole 1 second of our time would feel like 100 years to the person being sucked in, now how much would that suck.

I just wanna ski, is that to much to ask in life

big bang supposedly caused by photons exploding... (explosion of light). so i hear. and we are waiting for the contraction. we be dead before then tho... my science teacher decided last year he would name the lineup of our planet's death.. tehre were like 50 things that 'if by some miracle that doesnt happen, this will'.. .watta jerk.

all right this is probably wrong in some way but i decided to add it anyways

assuming 1+1=2...and that a=b when a and b =1

then a squared=ab...

a squared - b squared = ab- b squared...

factor it and (a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b)...

factor again and you take out (a-b) on both sides

thus (a+b)=b...w/ a=b that means b+b+b...

which is equal to 2b=b...divide by b and

2=b but b is supposed to equal 1...thus b doesn't equal 1

you're using 2 different variables for the same number. 1+1=2 wouldn't be a+b=2, it would either be a+a=2 or b+b=2.

Ok, The universe is, for the sake of definition, a sphere. In the same way that a baloon pops, and sounds radiates spherically, when the big bang occured, matter was ejected in a roughtly spherical manner. Due to Red shift, we can tell that the universe is indeed expanding. Thus, we're still moving away from the core of the explosion. That was a big fucking explosion. Question is, what is the universe expanding into? If you were blowing up a balloon , it could be said that the balloon is expanding into the air in the room. What is outside the universe?

And, about Time, it isn't man made. It's defination and quantification are, but the dimension of time (the 4th), is not man made. It's a real thing that we move through at a rate which is dependant on our speed and proximity to a gravitaional field.

Antoher question I have is, that in school we're taught that sound is a wave. It have peaks and troughs. My question is, how is that possible! Sound radiates spherically! Try to picture a spherical wave, not a ripple, but of with a predicatable, even frequency. GOOD LUCK! One answer I've found for that one so far is that the idea of a wave is just as close as we're able to come to defining it's properties.

Sound is a wave - not a shear wave but a pressure wave

and time is a dimension of the Universe hence before the big bang there was no time by definition

Bawb, I can trace this wanting for abuse back to your childhood i see it all the time. See growing up you had two dads, whereas everyone else you knew had a dad and a mom. This put you in the 'outsider' catagory right off the bat. Some of your earliet memories were bad sounds coming from your parents bedroom. The crack of leather whips and chains echoed through the hall of your mobile home. One day when you braved the nerve to open the door to this room of horror. You opend the door and saw both of you your dads with their mustaches where they didn't belong. Since that moment in your life you have craved abuse, someone that could beat those memories out of your little head. - Dr Von ReefSideRider

sound is a wave.

i don't quite understand how you say that it goes spherically, i don't understand what that means.

but here's a question for you: What is the median in which light travels through???...light can travel through air, water, and space. so what exactly is the median in which it travels??

thanks bob forgot about pressure waves. And the light question? Light is comprised of photons. Consider a shot from a shotgon. The pellets move through the air indiviually, but at the same speed diectionetc. Photons, I would think, would behave the same way.

Actually... there isn't an entire unifying theory on the composition of light. In some instances it behaves as a wave, sometimes it behaves as particles. The best understanding you can have of light is analyzing it through quantum theory, which still brings up some fucking screwy observations. If you observe light in one way, it makes expected patterns, but if you observe it in another way, you get different pattern results. This has led some to speculate that our observations determine the past. Because a light photon, a billion light years away, it's resulting behavior seems to depend on our current obvservation. I simply believe that our method of observations aren't sophisticated enough to explain the behavior yet.

yah, i know that they are photons, but what i'm asking is what is the median by which they travel through.

photons aren't really little pellets, they have both particle and wave-like properties.

In T2 why wouldn't Jon Conor be cocky and know that the T-1000 won't kill him, because he's still alive in the future,

would that creat a time loop?

Kinda like ground hog day....
