Cool Lockdown Drill

Today we had a lockdown drill, but it was different than the usual one. About 20 cops came in and started firing tons of blanks through the school.. I thought it was legit for a second

so does this happen at your school?

ive never heard of something like this... i would've shat my pants. is that even legal, i mean you have to have a good reason to pull out your gun and when you do mucho paper work must be completed.

hahahaha holy shit. Most cops have ever done at my high school was slam on the doors...but fucking firing blanks?!?!

Sounds crazy, I've never heard of any drills, or any police ever coming to schools even, not to mention any drug dogs.

same.

Once kids would hear gunshots, even if they are blanks, they would be texting parents, the news, posting all over the fucking place. The word would get out and it would be a fucking PR nightmare for the school. Parents would be dropping work to come get their kid. All hell would break loose.

I live around Cleveland where they had that shooting several weeks back. I don't think people would do that type of shit just as a drill. Its fucked up

Yea it was part training for them too. it was pretty scary until we knew what was going on, they had people scream in the halls and stuff too

Technically at our school we aren't supposed to know when lockdown drills happen but usually teachers end up finding out and telling students. One year they had cops come wander the halls firing blanks, and for some reason rubber bullets of some sort. Our vice-principal was being a dumbass and was wandering around as well, even though I guess she wasn't supposed to. A cop saw her, panicked, and shot her with a rubber bullet. That was before I was in high school though so don't know what the result of that was.

BOOM SHAKA LAKA, and a 1 and a 2 and a BOOM BOOM SHAKE SHAKE EVERYBODY NOW

I'm calling bullshit on this. Without telling you a drill was going down, a bunch of cops busted into your school and started firing blanks in the hallways, scaring the living FUCK out of kids? What if someone who didn't realize what was happening reacted and attacked one of the officers, possibly injuring or killing them?

haha thats pretty funny but for real, what if someone got the wrong idea and figured they knew who the "attacker" was and hurt them or worse.

I honestly feel like the panic itself would be the worst case scenario here, kids texting shooter etc.

OP did no one text their parents or anything? call police? run and never turn around and not know it was a drill till the end of the day?

there was a community service oppurtunity at my school that took advantage of the old building that was being torn down, they had blood all over the walls and tons of kids had professional make up artists make wounds and everyone piled around in the hallways/classrooms while police came and fired blanks at the "terrorists" then escorted the "survivors" to an ambulance where they then rode to the hospital. I win, and yes, that was all one sentence.

This sounds like an awesome cover up for someone who actually wants to shoot up the school.

To the kid who said his principle got shot with a rubber bullet, is the cop fucking retarded? How in the zone do you have to be to get scared for real during a drill.

My school is next to a pharmacy and a 7-11, both highly robbable, so we have lockdowns more than the average school, as well as drug detection shit.(my school is so fucking hood) But holy shit, blanks? calling bullshit.

definetly bullshit. my old school cant even bring in the drug dogs anymore, no way a team of cops come in firing blanks unnannounced. it would legitmately scar some kids, and the liability issues are probably not to be believed.

bellevue high school. and just for clarification, everyone was aware of the happenings at this drill and had to have a waiver signed and shit.

that's sketchy.

I'm all for being prepared but that's too far.

Also what people don't realize is that when they do shit like that, then if the real thing ever happens, people think it's just another drill

I definitely believe you OP. In my highschool, lockdowns involved cops interrupting classes and holding kids hostage. They would randomly pull a kid out of his seat during classroom instruction and hold a gun to his head. If we didn't react appropriately the whole class failed the lockdown challenge. I'm really surprised they're taking such light measures these days...

We're suppose to have a district wide exercise later this year in which all emergency services will be trained kind of like the OP. Supposedly we can volunteer to play victims at the school and get professional makeup done and everything. a couple of the heavily populated districts in CO have gone through this.

I believe that if this ever happened and word got out a lot of cops would lose their jobs. Seeing as firing blanks is a safety violation in itself. You know some people don't believe everything they read and this guy (points at self) is one of them.

my old highschool is like 5 minutes away of a pretty big military base, like 2 or 3 times a year the base has a big exercise where they also patrol/control towns/cities, one time our school got locked down with APCs and jeeps down the street, they rounded everyone up in the yard and started giving free water and snacks, 2 hours later they were gone :P

another time i was mountainbiking in a forest behind my house when i suddenly bump into an improvised outpost, i just said hi to the guys and continued, my way along their apcs :D

what if there was an autistic kid who started freaking out because they thought they were going to get shot. that was a dumb move on your school's part
