Cool computer tricks to know (pc or mac)

i thought that was pretty common knowledge.. i guess not lolfun trick for mac users, if it hasnt already been said: command, alt, control and 8. press them all at oncealso to take screenshots:command shift 3 --> the whole screencommand shift 4--> lets you use choose the size of the picture with the mousei think theres another but i dont remember...
 
new firefox: in the url space, you can literally just type a couple words and it will take you to a website...

for instance, type: knocked up imdb

or yahoo mail

or youtube lil wayne my life
 
if you have firefox, go to the addons page, and put on FireGestures or MouseGestures or something i forget what its called, but yeah its so legit you can do all this stuff just by holding the right mouse button and moving it in preset patterns
 
for windows

ctrl alt and prnt scrn

then enter when the window comes up

turns everything negative i used to do it to kids computers in middle school haha

press the same buttons to turn it back
 
control + alt + The down arrow key
Flips the screen and mouse controls upside down. Side arrows make it sideways, and up arrow makes it normal
 
this one is kind of long, but funny to do on work or friend's computers or what not:

1)press ctrl and Prtsc together with just the desktop open to take a screen shot of your windows desktop

2)go into microsoft paint and press ctrl V to paste the image.

3) Save the image as a .jpg. onto your desktop

4) set the image as your background

5) right click the desktop background, select auto-arrange desktop icons sub-menu, uncheck the option for "show desktop icons"

now the background will have a bunch of icons that don't work.
 
On pc- to quickly log off windows key+L

Works real well if you're password protected and don't want people messing with your comp while you're gone, but you don't wanna turn it off (aka dorm life)

Oh and if you want to get on some ones computer that is passworded.

start the computer in safe mode

change the password

log back in

you are on their computer.

works for xp
 
something to do on a mac, or mess with your friends is when they are not looking press control,option,apple logo and 8 at the same time. It turns the computer screen negative. they freak out because they don't know what the hell just happened.
 
this one is hilarious!!!!

ok, so if one of your friends gets up and leaves his computer, hop over there and go to google images and type in "broken computer screen trick" and click on this picture:

then set that picture as the screensaver. next activate the screensaver. now, unplug the mouse and the keyboard from the back of the computer, so when your buddy comes back and tries to type or move the mouse, it will appear as though his computer is completly destroyed!!!

its hilarious to watch thier reactions!!!! and them try to figure out what happened...
 
i do this when im at school...

when your in class and you are working in microsoft word go over to someone elses computer when they are not looking and press and hold ctrl+n... its awesome
 
Well it shut my computer down.... i was like fuck you too, but didn't feel the need to post it. I haven't restarted my computer for awhile anyway
 
On firefox, go to Tools > Preferences (or on a mac FIrefox > preferences), security, saved passwords, show saved passwords.

You will see all saved passwords, it doesn't even hide them. So check yourself if you use the same passwords for anything important...

And print screening the desktop and setting it as background is pretty classic
 
ahaha thanks for sharing that one. i defs just got rid of my saved passwords.... shits sketchy, i had my university account password saved, if someone peeped my laptop who knew that, there would be some potential royal fucking over going on there...
