Converting

I have a boatload of photos that I took with my Canon 40D that are in CR2 format. I need them out of that and into a Jpeg or nething that is more easily read than CR2. Any ideas?

Ouch. I dont think you understand where I'm coming from here. Ive done what I need to do to the photos I just needed to convert them into a JPEG afterwards so I could post them places since I havent been able to find a site that will let me post CR2 images. I've already figured it out thanks to another member. Thanks for the help though...

Well if you have a mac, iphoto can convert raw to jpeg and do it like 100s of pictures at at time.

Sorry for a semi thread jack, but its sounds like you got your answer about the photos. I have a number of clips and I want to assort them into an edit . One is from facebook, but I don't know how to dl it onto my computer. The others are saved to my disc in MP4 format, but they won't play with itunes, VLC or windows media player. The sound works, but I only get about 2 frames that come up. Could it be that they're in HD?

Obviously, I'm not very good with technology, but if someone could get me on the right track so I can at least view them and maybe even make a short edit. Thanks

Having a pirated version of cs2 does not mean you can't save things. I mean, can you explain to us why you can save it as a jpg. Just save as> then select the jpg. format

Naw man like CS2 wouldn't even open it. And I know how to change the format of a picture when saving it. I do it for websites all the time. It was the opening of the photo that was the bitch. Anyways its fixed so it really doesn't matter now.

Oh thats a different problem, see cause different versions of camera raw work with cameras, and a big problem with cs2 is for the most part it does not work with the 40d, i have gotten cs2 to work with raws on my friends comp but just updating the camera raw version, but 2 other times i have tried that it has not worked and is well documented online as not working with the 40d so i just ended up upgrading to cs3
