https://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/viewvideo/id/242616/member_id/76464/ edit i did a month or so ago. I was just wondering if can i get any kind of critizism on this edit, it was the first one i did 100% by myself, and im starting another B reel edit next week (ACL surgey in bed for a whole week) i know some of the people on here are really good so figured why not get another opnion. Remember the skiing is B-Reel footage more worried about the edit/filming then anything.

Two things stood out to me. First of all, I would like to see some more close up shots. a lot of these are unnecessarily wide, to the point that the rider looks far away. It distances your viewers from the action which is the opposite of what I try to do with an edit. Also, the tripod shots are nice and safe, but try getting some more dynamic shots such as follow cams or something. The framing and colors are really nice though. Nice quality indeed.

at the beginning and a couple other shots i think the shots last too long. you have to keep the viewers interest and by doing that i feel that your shots should be shorter. also less shots with the slow zooming out would be better. id say some closr shots would be nice as well and different angles. i would also choose different music. the song you used seemed to be just background music. not to much to it and it didnt work for me for the entire edit.

overall it was good though. the quality of the shots was nice and i liked it. sorry im better at criticizing then giving you props.

thats exactly the kind of thing i was looking for so thank you, I was trying to use a licensed song and finding a halfway decent free song is kinda hard haha. I Tore my acl so the moving shots are very limited by that, i would have liked to bring my homemade dolly up for the lift station drop but it wasnt gunna happen. What shots imparticular did you guys feel like were to far zoomed out, I know the first few that i just zoom out, and the one pow line at the start deffanatly were but other then that was there anything that stands out as being bad? These are all great and keep them comming ++K

there were a few nice tight ones in the glades. i think the ones that were too wide were some of the beginning ones and then the jump that no one landed much off of was wide too. i think you should incorporate some wide with more tight shots.
