Constructive critisism on my season edit?

Okay I'll start.

First off, I found that weird crop really off-putting. Were you using FCP7? That aspect ratio or whatever it was is caused by putting the song onto the timeline first. I assume this is what has happened.

Secondly, I think that the names of the riders through all of their shots was unnecessary. Just find some filler (shot of skier walking or similar) and put a name on that shot as an introduction as sort.

Thirdly the slow-motion.I found it to be choppy. Try shooting at a higher frame rate.

Your slider shots were VERY nice, I liked them a lot. As were your follow cams.

Talk about talent- you have some awesomely talented skiers to film and ride with. Just wondering what camera you are shooting with?

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I'll keep what you said in mind when doing future edits.

@remster - The edit was shot using a Canon 7D, except for three shots (the bs 450, the rodeo 5 and the rodeo 7 all appearing at 01:30) inwhich I used my friends GoPro.

You're looking good on the creative side, but you have a couple technical issues that are really casting a nasty shadow on the final project. Clean up the choppy playback issue and the edit will be infinitely better.

If you want slomo, shoot in 720p 60p, Put the shutterspeed somewhere between 120 and 250, I prefer 120 myself these days.

What are you editing with? Perhaps sony vegas? It looks like you might have some resampling going on.

Yes, I am using Sony Vegas. I've never heard of resampling, but after a quick google search it certainly looks like that's the case. I will remember to disable it for future edits. Thanks!
