Constructive Criticism please?

Just finished a different style edit of, well, stone masonry. The company asked me to do a promotional video, so I delivered with this. **I took out company logos to make it look more like my own video rather than theirs for this version. Love and hate away!

 
I think you need to go through and try to time you cuts a little bit better, they seemed off and didnt seem to flow in about 75% of the edit. There were definitely some good ones, but watch out for shots that are going left to right then cutting right to left at different speed, it looks a little awkward.
 
i second this, but overall i liked it a lot! I liked how clean all of the shots were, that made it look professional. just work on your cuts a little
 
I see what you mean by the cuts, i.ei the chisel section on the stone. There's always room for improvement, much thanks Heath and Chai!

 
I liked it a lot in a short story sort of way. If this is meant for commercial purpose I don't really see anything commercial about it. But it told a cool little story about doing the job of stone masonry.
 
I was expecting to see the finished product. It doesn't seem very promotional to me. It would have been cool if you could have somehow shown the process all the way through from start to finish.
 
so dope dude!

-song was a good pick, really created the vibe of working with your hands

-footage probably should have started sooner

-love the split screen

-for the most part, the colors were awesome. there were a couple times, like at 00:25, where the skin tones became very distorted, but other than that everything looks great

-i know the song really lends itself to slow motion, but regular speed footage could have also worked very well with that song. it also would have been cool if you had done some sound design with the audio you captured while shooting

-make sure your cuts are always right on beat

-shot at 1:05 was really, really sick

-finished product would have been sick, but i have a feeling they arent done yet and wont be for a while
 
Besides the cuts being slightly off beat, I really liked the filming and editing. Song choice is awesome.

The only thing is it doesn't seem very promotional. Showing the finished product would have not only completed the story, but is pretty important considering it is supposed to be a promotional piece for the company. Obviously they aren't done yet, but I think it would be a good idea to wait another few days or however long and get some more shots of the progress and then of the final product to add in.
 
This is a different version than the promotional vid, and they do want the finished product in there. This is how I wanted the shots to be cut, and I took out all the shots of their company trucks and such. The promotional bit is very different, and Isn't quite done yet. That video won't be online, so I don't know what their going to do with it.

 
Looking through I see what shots you mean about the beat, and the slightly overtanned skin tone. As for sound, there was constantly a running sound of the stone saws so it ruined the audio in a lot of the shots that I could have used it in. And the shot at 1:05 and the shot before were my favorites as well. Thanks for the full critique!
