Constant Injuries

In the year 2011 alone, I broke three bones. I haven't skiied since Jan 2 2011, So I guess you could say I'm tired of being hurt.

I broke my collar bone that day skiing my local resort.

In November, I broke my hand playing dodgeball *facepalm*

On Christmas, I broke my right arm clean through both bones hitting a jump on blades practicing switch 5's two days before I was supposed to ski for the first time since the collar bone injury.

Even after my recovery my parents aren't going to let me ski until next season, at which point it will have been almost 2 years since I skied, and 3 since I had a full, injury-free season. Has anyone else had such unfortunate luck?

I know how you feel. In January 2010 I shattered my kneecap, in December 2010 I broke my cheekbones in a couple places, and in September 2011 I shattered my elbow, and I'm still recovering from that one. Injuries suck dick

Last year of all things, I broke my shoulder blade in half and dislocated my shoulder, but luckily those fave been my only skiing related injuries. Injuries suck for sure

yea im on the same boat, fall 2008 got hit by a atv while dirtbiking, broke my left kneecap and right ankle, couldn't ski that year, dec. 2009 seperated my shoulder, had to take it easy for most of the season, summer 2010 had a bunch of re-constuctive surgeries to re grow my tibia which stopped growing after my knee injury. Got to ski for 2 hours on the last day of the season

Bummer, I disco'd my shoulder at the end of last season and just seperated a rib last sat. Didnt even know u could do that, apparently just tears from thr cartlige on your sternum. Hurts like a bitch but plenty of percocet helps and it only takes 3-4 weeks to heal.

two years ago I sprained my shoulder pretty bad, so I had to take it easy. Last year I broke my neck playing soccer in october, but I was able to get a few days in at the end of the season. This year, I have broken my left thumb twice, and I need to get reconstructive surgery in the spring after lax. what really sucks is that I am a two sport athlete in college, and I won't be able to play soccer goalie after this surgery. Big bummer.

i feel ya man. two years ago i fucked my shoulder up really good. season ended in january.

last season I cracked my ribs and fucked up my thumb.

a week ago i dislocated my left leg doing a 540. it popped right out of my socket and stayed out for a minute until it popped back in.

i would progress so much faster, but i always injure myself.

ive never broken anything but i got a concussion on the second day of a family vacation last year doing a backflip of a jump that probably wasnt backflipable...my rents weren't very happyvibes bro

Vibes man. I feel you. My first day skiing this season, November 6, I broke my arm. First day back, December 27, i found out my my meniscus in my knee was torn from when I broke my arm. Havnt skied since and won't be able to till atleast March cuz I'm getting surgery next Monday. Injuries blow ass man, good luck in the future

Well I'm friends with Dane Tudor and today I sent him a message congratulating him on his triple. He said thanks and wished me a good recovery on my arm... I guess he reads my statuses!!

This, I don't understand how some people get hurt so often, unless you push yourself too hard all the time.

DRINK MILK SON

broke my wrist in febuary lapping through a mini park, broke my foot in november trampin, and broke my knuckle yesterday lappin jumps. the foot was the worst for me.

They also have this new thing called chocolate milk. It's just like regular milk, only more delicious.

ye i had a ruptured spleen last february that put me in the hospital for a week and knocked me out for like 3 months. Then i was goin to hood that summer and broke my wrist 3 days before it

Find some pow, just ski it, don't throw tricks or huck shit, just slay some easy pow. Best way to get stoked on skiing again.

I tore up my knee, didn't rehab it very well, tore it up some more after like 2 days back skiing because it wasn't very strong, got back into skiing, skiied epic pow in Japan, got stoked again, hit the wall on a stepup, snapped my skis and just about broke my leg, opening weekend of the next season I binned a lincoln and broke both toepieces and massively bruised both calves, next weekend skiing I was trying to get stoked on skiing again, threw a backy, over rotated and got knocked the fuck out. Was seriously down on skiing for a bit after all that, but you'll eventually come back around to it. It just takes 1 good weekend of throwing down with some good friends and you'll be loving it again.

similar story, just turn around the chronology.

Broke my collarbone last summer for the 3rd time. This time I had to have surgery. Took ages until i could ski again because it didn't heal properly. Then, after 2 months skiing again, I ruptured my spleen. First time I would call one of my injuries serious. It was really fucked up and made me question my passion for the sport and the sport itself. I often ride with european semi- or full-pros and some didn't ride without painkillers in years. Some are already facing athritis by the age of 21... I don't know any good athlete besides wallisch who hasn't had problems with major injuries. My parents supported me 100% until I ruptured my spleen since I was lucky surviving it. Nowadays they want to stop me from skiing again. I am going to anyway, but working on my fitness stornger then ever.

Kids need to take the risks seriously. Friends of mine witnessed a girl failing on a backflip which resulted in her being handicapped for life. Look at Pekka or PK, this sport is dangerous. Stay fit, don't ski tired or very nervous, and the most important thing: go step by step and don't over estimate your skills!

that sucks dude, sounds like you either send it real hard or need some stronger bones or more muscle on your body. I broke my arm this december and now my collarbone in july. It's shitty, just be smarter about things, maybe you need to learn how to fall
