Cons of line invaders

i was thinking of getting some invaders because i have heard alot of good things about the new ones. But i also heard that they scratch and chip easily. is this true?

def go with the anthems bro.. you might as well have a wider ski, it makes barely a diference in the park, and all the difference in the pow

.

also i got invaders, and mine have chipped in four places, and i dont really care though because they are going to be my urbans next year....but whoknows, maybe my skis were created bad...oh well

i wanted the other kid to elaborate. i know i'm going to get hated greatly for this but if you can't ski a park ski such as an invader out of the park you need to learn to ski or stay in the park. now i could understand if you skied cascade concrete or east coast slush it would be impractical to use but it should still be skiable most of the time. i ski on atomic urban punx (another symetrical ski) all over the mountain; park, trees, pow, moguls, groomers, etc... granted it is a little harder to go fast on groomers or ski moguls hard it is still very skiable. montana does have some of the nations lightest snow so that helps. one of my best friends charges on his invaders; hell he even charged the ridge at bridger on them (not sure how familiar you are with bridger but the ridge is basically gnarly inbounds bc full of cliff bands, trees, rocks, etc...)

CLIFF NOTES:
if you can't ski invaders out of the park either just stay in the park or learn to ski

this right here is going in my signature. this is what tons of people on here need to realize.it sort of frustrates me when people are like, "will this be too skinny for powder, or do I want something fatter?" i think people have forgotten guys like warren miller and the guys of his time that freakin destroyed powder and groomers and such with 225 straight sticks of wood, with no sidecut. it hasnt been until the last 10 years where fat skis have been around, now everyone thinks you have to have at least a 100cm waist in order to ski pow.

*rant over*

thank you, i', glad someone on this site agrees with me. watch any old tgr film, greg stump film, glen plake, scot shmidt, etc... and you will see those guys destroying the mountain on skinny skis. and i would be delighted if you put that in your sig, people need to realize that skis are skis

word....i have fujatives and they work more than fine all mountain...

fat skis or rockered skis are somewhat necessary (sp?) for really heavy snow...but thats really all...i mean i for one like fat skis, cuz im just that way....i think a ski like the anthem or ARV would be a great one quiver ski..

thats true except you actually do need fatter skis if you mounting center for pow, yes you can ski any ski anywhere but only if its mounted back leaning back sucks and takes the fun out of skiing pow, i would rather use old ass skis mounted super far back than my invaders in pow

my brother had 06/07 Invaders and the top sheet chipped down to the core on all the tips and tails and a considerable amount along the sides. he also put three large coreshots in them, because they have a really soft base and 4 edge cracks, plus one tail at the seam began to delam a little.

big deal.

are u one of those guys that gets all pissed off when people run over your skis?

Haha, some lady the other day had her husband throw fist at some snowboarder for rubbing up against her awesome super rad salomon something crappys. she was so pissed. I had to ride up the chair with the guy and he was like "can you believe that? why would you want to wreck someones shit? fucking people fuckin snowboarders." I laughed really hard at him, and said its ok... you own the skis, they dont own you. Have fun its sunny. douche!

everyone seems to have lots of fun on those skis though, and the gay wolf painting on them is pretty gay.

go for it.

you are the definition of an idiot. line makes some legit stuff man, my anthems are freakin bombproof. just because one person invaders fell apart doesnt mean that all line makes is crappy skis.

hahahaha woops. whatever, same story... everyone loves em.

I just wanted to tell the lil story there anyways.

ps, youre dumb, line makes neet skis.

Very Soft ski and they ride great even switch cause they are symmetrical and the have the carbon ollie band in them which is great

have new years invader if u want some info message me.

Do you read what you type? You said 225 straight sticks. Compared to invaders which are center mounted and come in a max of 177. Length is arguably more important in powder and all mtn. skiing than width is. IMO way more important. So yes, you can ski invaders "all mtn." but on anything but groomers or moguls it is retarded. You will have no stability or edge hold on steeps, and you have absolutely no tip, skiing pow will take way more energy and won't be as fun as it would be on even something like an AR6 that is mounted further back. Trying to ski invaders on gnar terrain is just selling yourself short.

you are exactly right my friend. the point i was making is that you can still ski them. sure it might not be fun, but it is still possible. most people these days act like its not even possible, as if they wont slide on the snow or something. you make a good point, but not against what i was saying.

For sure. I think Invaders are inexpensive enough, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to use them as a dedicated park ski, and get something else like an ar6 or Rossi scratch if you want to ski park and all mtn. in the same day.

nah I was just pointing out cons of line invaders. They are a real fun ski though, just not as durable as some. The wolf painting is on the Anthems and I actually kinda like it, it's different. I guess that makes me gay though, lol.

I love the shit out of that graphic. So funny. Reminds me of those gay t-shirts I used to get when I went to Yellowstone when I was little. The type of shirts brett wears in Flight of The Conchords. Sooo awesome.

I can obviously ski outside of the park for christ's sake. I raced since I was 6. I'm saying, if you're looking for an all-mountain ski there is no sense in getting an invader because they are much shittier compared to other skis outside of the park.

I wouldnt say shittier... chattier yes, but not shittier.

if you wanna go super fast, go with a stiffer ski. seems like you do.
