Connecting Boxes...

Right now I am in the middle of building two 8' long by 1.5' wide boxes for backyard use. I found a 4 X 8 sheet of Lexan in my basement, so I have the topsheet. I plan on making two seperate boxes so that we can change them up between a 16' flat, 8' flat 8' down, flat up, or and just a 16' up combination on a hill to slide up and slide down.

However what is the best way to make a connection between the two boxes when being used as a flat down kink combination? Any input from those who have done something similar would be great.

make the end of the box look a lil like this

---------

/

/ so the 2nd box can kinda tuck up into the first one

maybe this makes no sense

if the lexan is 4 feet wide, make ur boxes 1 foot wide that way u then have enough for 4 boxes rather than enough for two

make the boxes so that if you put them beside eachother, they'd angle away from one another. like this:

_____    _____

|         /     \         |

that way, if u put them as a long straight box, u can make the straight edges on the outsides of my drawing touching. but, if u want a flat down, or an up down, or w/e, make it so the angled sides touch, and if you understand my drawing you'll see what should happen. (take the box on the right, and make the \ side touch the / side of the box on the left)

to fasten the boxes just get like four strips of plywood on each side (like 6 inches by 12 inches) and screw them to both the boxes (kind of like wooden tape if you can imagine that)

for the flat, just leave it with like an inch lower on the second one so you wont get caught

what turtleman did was let the topsheet over hang the ends about an inch this way you just put the second box topsheet under the firsts lip and there is only a 1/4 in. drop.
