That's right, I'm confused. I am graduating college and don't know what to do with myself. I do know that I want to go skiing. and I want to go skiing now.

Here is the deal. I am able to go any where in the northern part of earth. specifically west coast America.

Hood or Mammoth.

Within the next month.(june) no dates specified.

taking my snowboarding life partner

best park + best accomodations = our choice

if your graduating you should pack yo stuff and head out to whistler, that park lasts for a long time and its a sick place to be .but it isnt a perfect world so between hood and mammoth you should go mammoth cause mammoths park is amazing

As for accomodations at Hood, there aren't any at the resort unless you have the cash to stay at Timberline (Which is pretty expensive if I can recall). Although, I'm 99% sure there is a hostel in Government Camp that is like $20 a night per person. You could always camp too - but assuming you said best accomodations you most likely are looking for a real roof over your head. You could stay at the Huckleberry Inn too, but I'm not really sure what the prices are on that either.

If Mammoth's park is coming down soon don't waste your time. I know it's pretty easy to get a cheap room in Mammoth at this time of year, but there will be a park at Hood from now through the summer.

If you have any questions about Hood let me know, I could even try to find the website/number for that hostel if it's still running. Does anybody know if it still exists?

I fear that if I stayed at the Huckleberry INN I would never go skiing. I would sit in the restraunt drinking huckleberry shakes all day.

But thanks for the info. Do people think its too cold to camp?

Also, isnt there a best western or something down the street a ways from govy? I remember staying at a hotel around there when I was at race camp like 7 years ago.

No it isn't. Main Park and Forest Trail Park will have jumps open until the last day of the season, and the new 22ft spring pipe will have some rails and jumps added before or after it within the next few days. Mammoth is amazing.

Season is supposed to go until June 14th.

Id go to whistler they have the best jumps ive ever hit and once your in whistler you don't need a car unlike hood witch makes up for the hotel costing more.

Yeah but you can hitch hike in Hood EASILY if you need to... I didn't have a car there for an entire summer and never had a problem getting to/from the mountain.

I'm pretttttty sure there is - I think MHSSC puts some people up there, is that where you went?

And I know a ton of people that camped the entire summer, May - August, so I'd say you would be okay. I'm sure it might get a little cold in May/June, but you should be fine with a decent sleeping bag (which would be worth the investment of not having to pay for a hotel room).

sweet sweet.. is it worth it? Im in vancouver and I usually go to blackcomb summer park but i want to check out something new.
